The days following the engagement party were a whirlwind of emotions and activities. Amidst the chaos, Arjun and I found ourselves drawn closer together, almost as if fate itself was weaving our paths into one.

"Priya, can you come here for a minute?" my mother called from the living room.

I set down the stack of invitations I had been addressing and made my way to the front of the house. The living room was bustling with activity as family members helped finalize details for the wedding.

"What is it, Ma?" I asked, stepping around a pile of fabric swatches.

"We were thinking of visiting Arjun's family this weekend to finalize the engagement and wedding dates," she said, a hopeful smile on her face.

My heart skipped a beat at the mention of Arjun. "That sounds good," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady. "I'll make sure I'm free."

My phone buzzed in my pocket, and I glanced down to see a notification from Instagram. Arjun had posted a new photo. Curious, I opened the app to see a picture of us from the engagement party. In the photo, I was smiling at the camera, but Arjun's gaze was fixed on me, a look of admiration and affection in his eyes. My heart fluttered at the sight.

CAPTION: "A beautiful moment with a beautiful person. #Blessed"

I couldn't help but smile. The comments were filled with congratulations and heart emojis, but it was the picture itself that made my heart race. Arjun had captured a moment that felt so intimate, so genuine.

"Priya, you're glowing!" my cousin Rhea teased, peeking over my shoulder.

I blushed. "It's just a nice picture," I said, downplaying the effect it had on me.

Rhea grinned. "Sure, if you say so."

The visit to Arjun's family home was a grand affair. His house was just as I remembered-elegant, spacious, and filled with warmth. We were greeted with open arms, and soon the conversation turned to the engagement and wedding plans.

"Shall we finalize the date for the engagement?" Arjun's mother, Ragini, suggested, looking at my parents.

My father nodded. "Yes, let's do that."

As the elders discussed the details, Arjun and I found ourselves momentarily alone in the hallway.

"Are you excited?" Arjun asked, leaning in close.

"Excited and a bit nervous," I admitted. "But mostly happy."

Arjun's eyes softened. "I'm happy too, Priya. Really happy."

He reached for my hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. The warmth of his touch sent a shiver down my spine. It felt so natural, so right.

"Arjun, Priya, come back here!" my mother called. "We're deciding the date!"

We quickly rejoined the group, and soon enough, the dates were set. Our engagement would be in a month, followed by the wedding a few months later.

A few days later, Arjun and I decided to go out for dinner with our cousins. It was a double date of sorts, with Rhea and Arjun's cousin, Kabir, joining us. The restaurant was cozy, with dim lighting and a romantic ambiance.

"This place is beautiful," I remarked as we settled into our seats.

"Only the best for you," Arjun said with a wink.

Throughout the evening, we laughed, shared stories, and enjoyed each other's company. Arjun and I couldn't keep our hands off each other, stealing touches and glances whenever we could.

At one point, Rhea nudged me. "You two are adorable together."

I smiled, feeling a warmth spread through my chest. "Thanks, Rhea."

As the night went on, I felt more and more at ease with Arjun. We talked about everything, from our dreams to our favorite movies. It was as if we were old friends, comfortable and content in each other's presence.
