Here I was waiting for my date to show up and they are an hour late. I looked down at my phone seeing a text

"Hey, I am so sorry I can't make it".

I feel the tears start to fill my eyes but before any can fall down my checks.

"Hey I am so sorry, I kept you waiting I had to work an extra shift because Izzie was out with the cold".

I quickly dabbed my eyes, the guy in front of leaned in.

"Go along with it". He leaned back into his chair.

"Well I hope Izzie, feels better".

After finishing my sentence he asked if I was ready to order I nodded, the unknown men flagged down a waiter who quickly walked over the look of sympathy gone from her face.

"What can I get you guys", asked the waitress.

the guy confidently ordered a chicken Alfredo. Taking a look at the menu, i ordered a burger and french fries.

"Thank for you doing this", the looked confused.

"For pretending to be my date", I clarified

"Pretending, what do you mean pretending, I have been excited for this date all week".

His eyes and tone held mischief.

I laughed, this was the first time I had been enjoying myself on a date.

Through the date, I found myself for the first time in a long time enjoying a date, normally I would go on dates and the guys would be either rude or only want to hookup on the first date. But this men he was funny and kind and was very much my type.

After we finished eating, we decided to go and continue this date form the restaurant to the beach, we just kept talking and talking I have never felt so much connection.

Once it started to get dark the men drove me back to my car, once we parked hr got and walked me back to chair checking the backseat for anything weird.

I smiled at this, once I was given the greenlight to get in my door.

".By the way I never did you catch your name".

"My name's Steven".

Well Steven I was wondering if the next your aren't busy, would you like to go in another date.

Steven was quite for a second a solemn look I on his, but then I saw the grin on his lips.

Sure that sounds good, I am actually free this weekend.

Smiling at Steven, I asked for his phone number so we could contact one after we exchange phone numbers, Steven had to head back to work.

I smiled watching him walk away feeling excited about the date this weekend.
