Anastasia stood still in an overly familiar place, William was waiting for a reaction, an emotion, an out-of-place response.

"Are you feeling well, Your Majesty? You went silent for a while." William offered a hand but Anastasia shook her head to refuse.

"I'm fine, thank you for your concern, Sir William." Anastasia could only use 'sir' as a title for she forgot what position William held at the Nikoli clan.

"Let us continue to the military base you were talking about," Anastasia gazed away from the garden. It was almost like yesterday, the feeling. She was having deja vu without actually remembering any memories.

"Anastasia!" A loud yell came from above, the pair looked up to see Isaac falling from the heavens with a big smile and open arms, expecting Anastasia to catch him.

She would've if William didn't beat her to it, but of course, he had to knock some sense into him as soon as he landed.

William wrapped a newspaper a maid was delivering and smacked Isaac's head, hard.

"What was that for?" A big puppy-eyed Isaac asked his older cousin.

William looked like he was about to pop a blood vessel from his anger, based on the scene in front of Anastasia, she had already deducted that this happens quite often.

A small chuckle escaped Anastasia.

A few minutes had gone by, and Isaac was now accompanying William and Anastasia on their journey.

"Don't you have anything better to do, Isaac?" William's teeth gritted with a smile.

Isaac just rolled his eyes playfully and exclaimed, "What's better than joining the Empress on her tour of our estate?"

"I don't mind at all if Isaac is pleased to join us; if anything, I feel at ease that the Nikoli family is treating me with warmth." Anastasia smiled, her beam glowed with the rays.

William felt a bittered ache in his heart, how could she speak such words as if she was a stranger to them?

"See, William? Don't be such an uptight noble all the time! This is Anastasia we're talking about–" Before Isaac could even mutter to finish his sentence, he went flying, a result of William smacking him with force.

William—filled with embarrassment went down on his knees and bowed down to the floor.

He kept apologizing for Isaac's behaviour, he only stopped when he heard Anastasia chuckle.

She didn't feel offended surprisingly, maybe because it came from Isaac? A trusted advisor of her, ever since her 16th birthday party she held him in high regard.

"It's fine, Sir William; Isaac and I have a close relationship; I don't mind his words at all." With Anastasia's assurance, Isaac limped back to her and kept complaining about the pain.

"Anastasia, don't you see how cruel he is?" He kept repeating teasingly to the red-skinned William. This was the first time he was welcoming a VERY important guest, the Empress of all people.

The sister of the saintess, the ruler of the kingdom, and most importantly, his beloved baby cousin.

He was entrusted to guide an important figure, and yet here he was sulking in embarrassment.

"Please don't fret, Lord William; I don't take any of this to heart." Anastasia sighed and comforted the young lord.

"She's right Liam, don't be so uptight–" Isaac didn't finish his sentence when William glared at him.
