Chapter Five: Ice Cream

Finnie Boy (4:30 p.m.): Come over so I can take you for ice cream in 10

Me (4:32 p.m.): K I'll let everyone else know to meet us there

Finnie Boy (4:33 p.m.): K

Me (4:35 p.m.): Meet for ice cream in 15?

Niko the Absolute God (4:36 p.m.): I'll be there

Me (4:37 p.m.): Meet for ice cream in 15?

Daisy Bean (4:37 p.m.): Ollie and I will be there :)

I shut off my phone and look at myself in the mirror. I had put on my normal makeup; foundation, concealer, eyebrow gel, mascara, lip gloss, and highlight. My hair was now under control and straightened, leaving it shiny and sleek. I had put on a flowy off-the-shoulder flower top and some light wash jeans, and slipped on some shiny sandals. I put in a little more effort than I usually do, but it paid off because I do look a lot better than usual.

I smile, let out a deep breath, and walk over to my closet to get my handbag. I grab it, make sure my wallet and cash are in it, and then begin to walk downstairs. Before I can make it to the front door, father stops me.

"Where are you going, missy?" He jokingly asks me.

"I'm going out for ice cream with Finn and a couple other friends," I tell him.

"Do you need money? I have some cash if you need it," He asks.

"Thanks dad, but I've got some with me. I'll be home later, I love you," I say, and wave to him as I head towards the door.

"I love you too, have fun!" He says, and I walk out the door.

I close the door gently behind me and walk down the steps. I begin to walk along the sidewalk towards Finn's house, which is three houses down from mine. It takes me almost no time to get there, and I don't even have to knock on the door before Bella swings it open and jumps into my arms.

"Ellie!" She squeals as I swing her around in my arms.

"Bells!" I squeal back, and set her on the ground.

Bella is like the sister I always wanted but never had. We are very close because of all the time I usually spend at their house and with Finn, and since I usually help Finn babysit her when I can. I was even at the hospital with Finn when she was born seven years ago. I was one of the first people that got to hold her when she was born.

"I missed you!" She says, smiling widely at me, revealing all of her missing teeth,

"I missed you too! I haven't been around to see you in weeks!" I exclaim.

"Finnie is still upstairs doing something. Will you watch TV with me until he comes down?" She asks, slipping her hand into mine.

"Of course! Where is your mommy?" I ask.

"She's upstairs doing something. She hasn't paid very much attention to me today so I want someone to watch my shows with me," She pouts.

"Okay, lets go watch your shows for a little bit then," I smile at her and she leads me over to their couch and plops down. I sit right next to her and she cuddles right into me.

I look down at her and see her wide blue eyes focused intently on the TV in front of her.

Bella is exactly like Finn in many ways. For one, they both share startling, bright blue eyes and wavy brown hair. They both also have a little dimple in their chin, although Finn's is more noticeable than Bella's. The two of them are excellent soccer players, and are very fast runners. If you can't tell, they're both very big cuddlers as well.
