jihyo watched sana from her position on the girl’s bed, books and papers laid out on top of the duvet that held a scattered pattern of daisies. sana paced back and forth while she rattled off information about the tudors for their history project. she caught jihyo trying to stifle a yawn and paused in her marching to grin at her friend. “let’s take a break, shall we?”

“thanks,” jihyo said with a guilty smile.

“didn’t sleep well last night? weren’t you out on a date with two cheerios yesterday?”

jihyo shrugged and reached for her bottle of water to avoid having to answer the question. except, sana kept looking at her with expectant eyes so she sighed and said, “yeah, i’m sure you can imagine.”

“i cannot, actually. as you know, i am a virgin.”

the statement caught jihyo mid-sip and water caught in her throat. she coughed and cleared her throat. “jesus. i suppose i do know that.”

“so, as you can see, i cannot imagine what it would be like to be intimate with anyone, really. let alone two flexible cheerleaders who seem to know what they’re doing, if you get my meaning.”

jihyo rubbed her temples now that sana sat in front of her, back straight as a rod. “where are you leading with this, sana?”

“jihyo, as my good friend—nay, my closest and dearest friend—”

“oh my god.”

“—i am here hoping to ask for advice. and assistance.”

“only if you stop talking like you’re going to swear fealty to me.”

sana closed her mouth and giggled. “okay, okay. sorry. less formal, got it.” a deep breath. her shoulders fell slack. “so, dex and i are planning our first time with each other and i was hoping you could... provide some insight.”

“you know i didn’t go far with dex, right? for obvious reasons?”

“yes, that part i know. i’m talking more along the lines of... the expertise department.” sana’s ears and cheeks turned pinkish and she averted her gaze from jihyo. “i don’t want to be too nervous during my first time with him because i don’t know what i’m supposed to do.”

jihyo raised her brow. “isn’t it counter-intuitive to explore physical closeness with someone before you do so with your boyfriend?”

sana sighed and buried her face in her hands. “i just don’t want to mess up!”

reaching for sana’s wrists, jihyo held them so she did not hide her face from her. “it’s not a contest. sex with someone you love isn’t about prowess. it’s about intimacy. finding deeper knowledge about the other person.”

“do you love every girl you fuck?”

jihyo scoffed. “of course not.”
