Miwa was not particularly an outgoing person. Not intentionally at least. She wasn't particularly closed off either. And as a matter of fact she wasn't a rigidly reserved person either. If she had to describe herself, she would say she was similar to a pendulum bob suspended midair, kinda just hanging in there, not particularly noticeable but not completely avoidable either.

To put it simply, Miwa saw herself as a completely average person who could easily blend in with a crowd because to her, nothing about herself was outstanding enough to make her stand out amidst a group of people. And she was fine with that.

She was fine with living a mediocre lifestyle that did not involve any unnecessary drama or stress to indulge in. Nothing to worry about except the usual load of homework and exams and sometimes maybe a love life. The last one was difficult to elaborate upon, she had never really asked Kokichi what they were so she was truly fulfilling her role as a pendulum bob, hanging midair.

What Miwa had not expected on a Friday morning was to be roped into a conversation with Nishimiya, Misato, Mai and Akiko about Yuji Itadori's love life.

Now at the surface level, there isn't anything alarming about the given situation. Akiko Watanabe has been head over heels for Yuji for over four years. A typical crush on the basketball heartthrob wasn't unnatural, in fact the entirety of the female population revered him, and a majority of them harboured a crush on him. But Akiko stood out because of her blind persistence.

Despite being chased by many guys throughout her life, Akiko remained moronically loyal to her feelings for Yuji, which she garnered during middle school.

Akiko talking about Yuji was not surprising. Another girl's name popping up in the middle of the conversation was what threw Miwa completely off guard.

"Ah- Miwa!" Nishimiya cried, pulling Miwa into their concentric circle.

"Have you heard? Yuji was hanging out with that hermit, whats her name?" Nishimiya looked over to Mai for help, who in turn answered,

"(L/n) (Y/n)."

Miwa blinked, pleasantly surprised.

"The student council's vice president?"

This is where Akiko chimed in,

"Cut off that fancy crap, she's a geek for all we know." She bit back, clearly agitated.

"They could've been working, who knows, you shouldn't worry yourself." Misato said nonchalantly.

In retrospect of the situation, Akiko really shouldn't worry because she had no authority to. Over the course of the past four years she had never made a move or even allowed her feelings to be seen by the latter, so her frustration was simply misdirected.

"I'll need to look into this."
