Doyoung (NCT): rivals

You and Kim Doyoung were academic rivals all throughout high school. You constantly battled against him for the number one spot in the entire school to which every quarter one of you booted the other from the highest rank. Even during the end of the year sports festival the two of you competed against each other in whatever sports you signed up for. And of course you and Doyoung always seemed to choose the same exact events every festival.

Even though you were rivals with Doyoung you never actually shared a class with him in high school. You only knew he was your rival based on the quarterly exam results that were posted in the main office. And because of that you knew he was aiming for the same scholarship you were, making him your biggest competitor. You needed that scholarship to get into your dream university.

Since you never had a class with the Doyoung you never actually spoke to him, yet the two of you had an obvious distaste for each other all because of the scholarship. He was aware you wanted it too but only one of you could receive it. So whenever you'd see one another in the halls or during field days both of you would glare at each other. It was never actually your intention to physically compete against Doyoung during the school's sports days.

Every year you'd choose different sports to participate in, in hopes of avoiding him. If you had it your way you'd avoid having to deal with Doyoung at all costs. But fate continued to have different plans for you all throughout high school. You had no choice but to be as competitive as possible just because of Doyoung.

Your dislike for the boy fuelled you to battle against him and the same went for him as well. Doyoung was always under the impression you purposely chose the same sports he did every year and it annoyed him. He was beginning to think you were just obsessed with him and not the scholarship. But your eyes were only on your dream school.

You thought once you graduated high school that the rivalry would finally end. At least as long as you graduated in first place and received the scholarship. When you found out you finished school in second place you were devastated. The news was a huge shock to you. But more importantly, the thought of Kim Doyoung really boiled your blood now.

Luckily, after having a breakdown in the admin's office, you found out your hard work still paid off in the end. Even though you didn't get the scholarship you really wanted you still graduated with other scholarships that helped you get into your dream university anyways. So now that you were headed to your ideal school you had less time to brood your hatred for Kim Doyoung more time being excited for college life. That is until you actually entered university.

On the very first day of college you were looking down at a map of the campus to see where you were going. The last thing you wanted was to be late to your first class. And then all of a sudden your shoulder slammed against someone else's. You immediately bowed and apologized to the stranger while they did the exact same thing.

When you both stood up straight you gasped and pointed at him. His eyebrows scrunched out of irritation the moment his eyes met yours. It was Kim Doyoung of all people. He scoffed loudly like he regretted apologizing to you.

"Why are you here?" Doyoung looked down at you with a disgusted expression on his face.

"I should be asking you the same thing." You scoffed and crossed your arms.

"Are you following me?" He asked as he adjusted the strap of his bag across his chest.

His question caught you completely off guard and immediately pissed you off. You sucked in a sharp breath and furrowed your brows deeply.
