THE RESTAURANT WAS loud, lively, and filled to the brim with the smell of good food. It was the middle of dinner hour, so naturally Carmela, better known as Nonna, was running around, barking orders, and terrifying her grandchildren who she roped into helping out.

"Elijah, don't just stand there! Help your sister!" she yelled, smacking her grandson upside the head. A long string of Italian profanities and insults left her lips as Eli, who had one arm in a sling, tried to avoid the wrath of his grandmother by grabbing a plate and scurrying away.

Alessia laughed as her older brother passed her with a frightened expression on his face. The twenty five year old was sitting at the one empty table, going through photos on her laptop. She was supposed to be helping out, but being the youngest had its perks. Namely, she could get away with taking extended breaks while Eli couldn't.

"You're a bitch," Eli muttered, passing by again. He was carrying a large stack of dirty plates, a scowl on his face. She blew him a kiss in return, making his scowl deepen. He flipped her off before disappearing into the kitchen.

The blonde just shrugged and went back to editing her photos. She loved the restaurant. The environment was loud, somewhat chaotic, and full of people, but for her, it was perfect.

She was pulled out of her thoughts when Eli came back and plopped down next to her.

"I hate you," he informed her, grabbing the glass of water and downing the whole thing.

"Oh, c'mon, it's not that bad," Alessia teased, not looking up from her laptop. "Especially not for the big, strong, FBI agent." She pinched his cheeks, causing him to swat her hand away.

"Don't you have somewhere to be? Like, I dunno, work?" he asked, looking over at her. He was promptly hit on the head with a napkin. He knew she was just laid off from her job and was upset about it, but he couldn't help but tease her.

"Fuck you."

"Get over it."

She opened her mouth to insult him but closed it when the siblings noticed the door opening. In walked a short, blonde woman in a pair of skinny jeans and a black jacket. A curly haired baby was strapped to her chest, grabbing her mother's hair and babbling away.

"Oh thank God." Eli smiled at the woman as she approached them. "My savior has arrived."

Luciana laughed and rolled her eyes as Eli got up to hug her. He was happy to see his long time friend but he was happier because with her here, Nonna would let them go to the back room to eat and talk.

Eli quickly led her through the crowd so she wouldn't be recognized by any Yankees fans in the room. It had happened a few other times when she came to see them, and it usually ended up in a long conversation and autograph signing. Luce didn't mind, or if she did she was very good at hiding it, but Eli did.
