Just Us [Franky×Robin FanFic] Short Story

Chapter 5

Robin's POV

We finally arrived at our meeting place. It's been a while since we got to do this. Luffy was already sitting at the table, eating. Ussop is waving at us "Hey you guys! What took you so long? Have you guys seen Zoro? He said he was going to the men's room an hour ago. And he hasn't come back." Everyone else is here too.

"That idiot! Who gets lost in a small place like a restaurant?!" Nami said. "Brook! Help me find that moss-haired idiot." Sanji said.

"He's hopeless" Nami sighed. I giggled and looked at Franky. "I see you eyeing Franky." Nami teased, I looked at her and smiled. She gasped "Something good happened, tell me everything! We gotta have a girls' night out." She said.

I laughed and nodded, "I'll tell you when we get home." I said and looked back at Franky. He looks different, I feel warm inside whenever I look at him. I wonder if this is what they call infatuation.

"This restaurant is a maze." Zoro said as he sat down next to Luffy. Nami looked at Zoro, "Are you serious? It's a small place! Sanji and Brook had to look for you." she said.

"Shut up." Said Zoro who drank the beer next to him. "You are hopeless! No wonder Hiyori can't leave you alone." Nami rolled her eyes and sighed.

The rest of the gang came back and started catching up. As we were having a drink, Nami started to pinch my arm catching my attention. She gestured something then pointed at Franky who was looking at my direction. I smiled at him and he suddenly stood up.

"Franky, what's up man? You look flustered." Sanji asked. He looked at me and then to the rest of the gang.

"I like you Nico Robin! Please go out with me!" He suddenly shouted and cried. I was startled, I looked at Nami who was squeling beside me, Sanji suddenly dropped his wine bottle, Zoro just looked at Franky and smiled, Luffy was laughing, Brook just laughed and said "Amazing!" They all were happy.

"Robin! Say something!" Nami whispered, excitedly. Should I say yes? I don't even know if I like him or not. But my gut feeling is telling me to say yes.

"I.." I paused and thought for a minute, it's okay right? I want to say yes. Should I? I looked at Franky who was eager to hear my answer. "Yes" I finally said it.

Everybody cheered, except Sanji. Franky smiled and cried tears of joy. I laughed, maybe I do like him. Franky sat down beside me "Sorry," he whispered "I couldn't take it anymore. I kept looking your way and you looked so beautiful and happy. I wanted to make you mine"

I can feel my face getting warm. I drank the lemon juice beside me and looked at Franky "Are you drunk?" I asked.

"I'm sober. I kept thinking about it, about asking you to be mine." He continued. At this moment, I just want to curl up like a ball. How can he be like this with words? I never expected this from a man like Franky.

"Well now! I think it's enough for us!" Nami stood up and clasped her hand. "We should all head home and rest! I bet someone very dear is waiting for you guys to come back."

"But we just started the party!" Luffy and the others exclaimed, I looked at Franky who was still looking at me.

"Nami, you guys should stay. Me and Franky will be going out for a while. Let them have fun, it's been a while since they saw each other. Besides, I know you've been wanting to talk to Sanji for a while." I whispered at Nami whose face is now tomatoe red.

"Franky, can we talk for a while? Outside, just us." I said. Everyone looked at us and Franky immediately stood up "O-Okay"

"Ms. Robin, go easy on Mr. Franky." Brook said and raised a glass. I smiled at him and nodded.

Franky followed me as I walked outside. It suddenly became so quiet, only the sound of the wind and the passing cars are the ones making noise. I sat by the bench next to the restaurant. Franky sat beside me.

I looked at the sky, it's already getting dark. "You know, I never felt anything or something like this for anyone. I mean, I love the crew, but it's different for you. I never understood my feelings at first, I'm still a bit confused. But, when you asked me the question, I wanted to say yes. But I thought, do I really like you? Is it not something like I like you because you're always there, type of thing?" I said.

Franky was silent. I looked at him and he was looking at me. "You know, the first time we met, I hated you. You were so cocky and you never really opened up to any of us. But when you finally did, I started hating you less until it became something I never expected. You probably don't know this but everyone loves you, I love you more than anyone else. I got hurt too when you told us what happened to you when you were just a child. I thought, what if we met when you were just a small little girl, would you still be called the demon child?"

I suddenly felt tears running down my face. So this is how he felt. "I didn't know you cared for me like that. I always thought you were like that to everyone."

He laughed and shook his head. "No,  I was a bratty kid back then. Still am until now."

"You're not a kid now though" I said.

"Okay, Ms. Not-So-Old." He laughed. I laughed with him. Then our eyes met.

"Thank you for seeing me, Franky." I said. He smiled at me.

"I love you Nico Robin, I always do and always will." He said as he leaned over. I closed my eyes and felt his lips on mine. It was a beautiful night.
