VALERIEI ran my fingers through my hair and started at the slowly moving clock, time seemed to go as slow as possible when it comes to school.
there was only 1 minute left, yet it felt like there was a thousand hours left.
just as I put my head down on the table and closed my eyes to the sound of nothing, the loud sound of the bell rang and relief went through the whole of my body.
I couldn't wait to get home and take my daily visit to grandma, I loved seeing her. It always made me feel joy and sometimes it even made it seem like she was still here.
I slipped my jotters and other equipment I had sat on my desk and hang my bag over my shoulder, my feet went out that classroom so fast you could hardly see them.
I brushed past everyone quickly as they gave me dirty looks, I wasn't very popular in school, everyone always calls me the school 'weirdo'.
Although I don't really understand why they do? I'm perfectly normal just like the rest of them.
I stopped in the corner of the school entrance and started rummaging through my bag trying to find my raincoat after seeing how bad the rain was, I could hear it from inside the classroom but I didn't realise it was that bad.
I slipped my arms through my jacket sleeves and scrambled around till I found my hood and put it up.
I took a step outside and felt that amazing Friday breeze, I loved the weekend.
I didn't have to deal with bullies, getting pushed in the halls, getting things thrown at me, always being called the teachers pet, and generally just no normal stress that I would face on a normal school day.
On the weekend I would usually just enjoy the sun or go visit my grandma, most of the time I visit my grandma tho.
I waved to my only best friend Holly after seeing her waiting for me in school car park, I've known her for so long and she's the only one who ever understands me.
I just hate the fact that she goes to a different school tho, but I'm dreading the day she moves back to Australia.
That's the main reason she's my best friend, back in Australia we were the closest of friends ever and it was me and her against the world.
But when we moved to here we lived in separate areas meaning we had to go to different schools, I think that might be the reason nobody likes me? because I look different and sound different, mostly because i'm Australian.
Every day after school she picks me up and drops me off at home which I love because it gives us a time to bond and just generally be together, on the way home we always blast songs and sing our hearts out to them, speak about boys in her school who have absolutely no clue who either of us are, and just all that type of stuff. On the way home today we decided to blast songs and sing, my favourite, and once she dropped me off I watched her car zoom away into the distance as she drove off back to her place.
I walked through my driveway and gave my neighbours a quick smile and wave before I lifted up the door mat and slided away the key into my hand.
As I expected nobody was home, nobody ever really was when I got home from school. I used to feel lonely at first coming home to nobody being there but now i'm used to it.
I actually like when nobody's home because it gave me a chance to go visit my grandma for longer.
My legs hopped theirselves up to my room which had my name on the front, "valerie", with a little heart next to it. I designed that myself.
I quickly sprang open my wardrobe and hauled out the first top and jumper I could see, I never changed my bottoms as I didn't see a point so I kept them on.
My bag 'dragged itself' over to the corner of the room, it didn't really I just chucked it, and after I ran over to my door and sprinted down the straits.
I went out the back door as I couldn't be bothered unlocking then locking the front door again.
I hopped over the garden fence and started walking down a dark path, since it was winter it started getting darker quicker. I like the dark, maybe that's why people think i'm weird.
After a while I finally reached the graveyard.
For a moment I just stared at her grave, even though I always visit her every time I do I feel even more upset.
I started ranting to her about life and about how still nobody talks to me and everyone thinks i'm weird, until I heard a noise.
My heart started pumping because nobody ever came to this cemetery, and I mean nobody. It was always dead silent.
My palms started sweating after hearing a loud crunch noise, then as I felt uneasy as if something was watching me.
I looked around for a while but paused for a moment when all the noise randomly stopped and I couldn't hear anything. But still I felt like something was there, watching me, so I stood still and just moved my head about.
After a couple of seconds I heard another voice and instantly turned my body and head and in that direction.
I saw none other than a dark, tall figure standing in the distance next to a large tree. My heart stopped pumping and for a second I felt like I couldn't breathe.
When I squinted my eyes to take a closer look at whatever was standing before me, it disappeared.
Suddenly my vision started going blurry and my head started twisting and turning.
Then I fainted.
