Chapter 8: Mercury

Mercury was silently watching everyone. He could leave, but doing nothing all day seemed boring. Sun wouldn't even talk to him because he was asleep. Actually, he wouldn't be doing nothing. He could try some more to wake him up. Mercury stood up, leaving without saying a word. He arrived at his orbit, staring up at Sun. "Let's see... what haven't we tried..." Mercury says, thinking. "I don't know. We tried everything, didn't we?" Mercury asks himself. "The only thing we haven't tried is touching him. But I can't do that." Mercury mumbles to himself. He sits down, still staring at Sun. "What do I do now? I can't go back, that would be awkward." Mercury wonders. He looks away from Sun, instead staring at his wrist, which he was still holding ice on. "Was it really worth it?" Mercury whispers to himself, before looking off into the distance. He watches the stars for a moment, questioning his life choices. He sighs, standing up. "I guess I'll go hang out with Uranus and Saturn. Or the moons." He says, walking towards where Uranus and Saturn usually are. He enters the asteroid belt, looking around. He continues on, making sure Iris isn't gonna pop out somewhere and start beating him up. "Hi Mercury!" Saturn says, seeing him. Mercury looks up at him, nodding his head. "You okay, my rocky freind?" Saturn asks. "Yeah..." Mercury responds. Uranus looks up from writing in his diary. The two silently acknowledge eachother. "You two are being creepy." Ganymede says, breaking the silence. "How long have you been there!?" Saturn asks, getting spooked. "Since all the moons decided to come here, you big idiot." Europa says rudely. Earth's moon kicks Europa. "She didn't mean that. Your very smart!" Luna says, glaring at Europa.  Europa gives Ganymede the death stare, trying to get him on her side. Earth's moon gives Ganymede the death stare , trying to get him to not interfere. "Get out of eachother's throats!" Titan says, pulling the two away from eachother. They soon devolve into a very big fight, forcing the bystanders, Mercury, Callisto, and Dione, to try and stop their fighting. "G-guys! Please s-s-s-stop!" Io says, starting to cry. Finally, Mercury manages to pull Europa out with his left arm. "Let me go!" Europa shouts, trying to hit Mercury. "ACK!" Mercury shouts, getting hit in the gut and falling down. Saturn grabs Europa in his hand. Callisto drags Titan away, and Dione gets Earth's moon. Io stops crying, wiping away his tears. Mercury stands up after a moment. "You okay?" Callisto asks him. "Uh, yeah." Mercury says. Dione, Callisto, and Saturn let go of the idiots, keeping an eye on them for a moment. Mercury smacks Europa across the face out of anger, but not very hard. "Hey!" Europa shouts angrily. "Hehe!" Callisto chuckles. "Shut up!" Europa says, glaring at Mercury. Mercury gives her a nervous smile, and she roles her eyes. "This is awkward." Dione says, breaking the utter silence that had been there for 3 minutes. "Stating the obvious." Europa replies. "Europa, just, please, shut up." Callisto says. Io epically coughs like a maniac. "Seriously though, Io, get that checked out." Callisto tells him. "And that better not be contagious." Europa cuts in. "Eh, I'm still here?" Mercury says, reminding them. "We know." They all says in sync. "Oh, okay, I was just, uh, reminding you?" Mercury says awkwardly. "Uh huh." Europa huffs. "Are y'all done?" Uranus asks. "Oh, uhm yea." Mercury responds. "Nice." Uranus tells him. Just when no one was expecting it, Iris snuck out from behind some asteroids, grabbing Saturn. Uranus loads his gun and fires, this time he doesn't miss, and hits Iris in the leg. "AAAAAAAAAAA-" Iris begins screaming, before Mercury jumps up and forces Iris's mouth shut. Iris grabs Mercury off of his face, holding him by his neck. "MAKE ONE MOVE AND I'LL CRUSH HIS THROAT!" He shouts as Mercury struggles to get out of his grip. Uranus pauses, as he was about to shoot. Mercury attempts screaming, but all that comes out is a harsh, whisper-like, scratchy small screech. Iris takes his chance, and teleports away, dropping Mercury. Saturn and Uranus rush over, kneeling down to help him while some of the moons rush away to get help. Mercury up at them, crying. Saturn starts freaking out, while Uranus goes off to finish this, once and for all...
