Eyes

Airy and Popcorn were sitting by the bench near the park they were hanging out by.

Popcorn: It's so nice today.

Airy: Sure is.

Popcorn: You know what's one thing I like about spring. It's all the flowers that bloom that make everything around here so colorful.

Airy: Yeah. My garden looked colorful this morning when I first saw it.

*Then they both looked at each other. Airy was looking at Popcorn's shades while Popcorn was looking at Airy's one eye.*

Popcorn: Say. We've been together for a month now. I got to ask. How come you cover only one part of your eye.

Airy: Uhh to hide the scar I got when I was little.

Popcorn: Scar?..... Am I allowed to see?

*Airy pushes away his hair. He has a scar that crosses through his other eye.*

Popcorn: The scar isn't that bad. It's just a small line.

Airy: Yeah. I didn't really like having it out. When I first got it, everyone thought I was a threat because of it. That's why I would cover it.

Popcorn: Haha! They thought you were Scar from the Lion King or something.

Airy: Yeah. But it's fine. I've gotten used to covering my eye for a while and I think I like it.

Popcorn: Well that's nice.

Airy; Now. Why do you wear those shades all the time.

Popcorn; Because I look good in them!

Airy: Ok. But why those shades specifically?

Popcorn:..... (Sigh) Truth is I didn't really have any glasses at home to cover my eyes. So I used these shades that I got from watching the movies.

Airy: Why did you cover your eyes?

Popcorn: To hide my heterochromic.

*Airy was surprised to hear her response. Then Popcorn takes off her shades. One eye was shown to be blue. But the other was shown to be red.*

Popcorn: I was called a freak with my eyes. And I just didn't want to go through with it. So I covered my eyes so I won't be made fun of anymore.

Airy:...... Well I don't think you're a freak........ I think you look beautiful.

*Then they both looked at each other with their eyes no longer being covered. They smiled at each other. And then they lean on each other's shoulders waiting for the sun to set.*
