Chapter 16: Change... The Turning Point(Part 2/2)

Wow, look at us huh? I re-read my series and goodness it's been a ride. You guys who've been reading since the beginning and seen me rise as a writer, thank you! Writing this fanfic has helped me land an interning job, so that is wild. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this series as I said prior, will be my focused book as there is just so much content that I cannot jump around like I used to from book to book. Plus, I just thoroughly enjoy writing this story so hopefully one day when it comes to an end, I will progress as a great animator and I can make fan-made animations. Hopefully not get picked up by Mappa. Well, this is the big chapter we have been waiting for for some time so here we go. Just wanted to take the time to address you guys and say thanks. Lmao went from averaging barely 10 views to a steady 100+, that is wild to me. Okay, okay, let's get into it. Oh also, I will not be writing too early smut when they are young, but there will be a *slight spoiler* small scene where it is lmao, close. I don't ever feel comfortable, publically that is, writing this stuff but I know I will have to.

Chapter Begin

After the birthday celebration, me and Rudy were now in our shared room, taking a moment to rest. The night's festivities have left me feeling exhausted but content.

"Thanks for the great party, Wilb," Rudy says with a tired but genuine smile. "It wouldn't have been the same without you."

I turn my head toward Rudy, waving my hand at him gesturing like it was no big deal. Plus, Eris and everyone else did most of the work haha.

"Shoot, I was just getting you back for last year," I let out a chuckle before my expression softened, "Sorry Mom and Paul couldn't come though..." I look at Rudy with a tinge of sadness in my eyes. "I know it's not the same as having them here, but I hope you enjoyed yourself regardless."

Rudy nods, understanding the sentiment. "I did," he says, his voice low.

We were suddenly interrupted, as there was a knock on the door. It was Philip he wanted to speak to me in the hall for a moment about something. I could tell he was a little drunk still, but he didn't seem too inebriated. I nodded, turning to Rudy who shooed me out as he wanted to get ready for bed anyway.

Philip and I step into the hall, he looks at me and brings up the Eris marriage thing.

Philip takes a deep breath, trying to compose himself. "Listen, Wilb," he begins, looking at me seriously. "I need to talk to you about something. It's about Eris." He paused. "Eris has grown tremendously under you and Rudy's supervision. Especially, you." Philip sounded like he never could have imagined this.

He had heard how exceptional me and Rudy were from Paul, but as the sons of someone who spent all his time flipping skirts at my age, he probably thought I, well mostly Rudy would be the same type of delinquent. He figured something interesting might happen by pitting his unruly daughter against me and Rudy, like observing the chemical reactions of a science experiment. That was about as far as he'd imagined it. "I can still remember the day when Paul came running here crying," Philip muttered to himself. I asked Philip to explain, who said Paul came crying because he was going to get married but didn't have the money to afford a place and needed a stable job. Yet at the same time, Paul didn't want to return to his noble family.

Apparently, he got on his knees for our sake, something he didn't do even when the incident with Lilia happened. Well, that was in the past, anyway.

Philip takes a moment to collect his thoughts before continuing. "Anyways, got off topic, the reason I wanted to speak with you is because I've been thinking about Eris's future," he explains. "In light of her growth and development, I believe it would be wise to consider finding her a suitable husband."
