I don't get much time to worry about anything else, like me fainting and Rian getting me to the hospital, or his conversation with the doctor or the deal being off for good, except I now have to worry about all the things that Inaya wants me to do. Face packs, cleansing rituals, blah, blah, blah.
"SMEHA IS ON HER WAYY. GET THE HELL UP FROM THE BED AND GO PUT ON THE MASK, VANHII"
I still don't get up so eventually she comes to me and drags me to the mirror. As I look into the mirror, all I see is a stupid coward girl who can't even stand up to her feelings and tell him how she feels. A coward who hid behind lies, a coward who used him for her own pleasures. Well, he was using me as well for his own gain, right?
"Vanhi, rub it on your face."
Why should I be the only one to feel remorse? Why do I feel so insecure? And unloved.
"Vanhi?"
I have my friends, my family. I'm sure that's enough for my happiness. Rian should have been history. Why did he have to show up into my life again? Why?!
"Vanhi, are you listening?" Inaya shakes me hard and I come back to my senses.
"Right.
Rest of the night, me and my friends focus on looking as great as possible. To face all the high school bullies. Funny, it might sound childish, a sweet revenge to show them we are doing much well in our lives despite the hurtful comments they used to throw at the three of us.
We plan to come individually in our own cars and get together at the venue for much stronger impact. Pathetic, but whatever.
I help Payal dress up Nina in a pink little gown. Thomas arrives to pick her up and they leave first.
Rishi in a handsome combination of black tuxedo comes to pick Inaya up who beamingly gets into the car in a beige satin sheath midi dress. They look perfect together and I couldn't stop smiling at the thought.
"Don't be late." Inaya reminds me to which I only nod as I watch them leave the driveway.
I go back in and start dressing. The more late I am, the less time I'll have to be there at the party. I lazily pick up my strapless deep red corset top. I lazily pull up my not so tight black leather pants. I pair it up with a pretty ruby teardrop necklace that Inaya bought me when she went for shopping, with matching earrings. I comb my hair and let it fall down my hip. With the make up already done with the help of Inaya's stylist, I think I look perfectly ready to make a statement tonight. I put on red heeled heels and a black overcoat.
Upon reaching for my car, I notice Rian patiently waiting for someone with his body rested against his car. His attire almost similar to someone who has an appearance to make. In a black shirt buttoned except the first two ones, black coat and black pants, black business shoes, he looks gorgeous. His hair is slicked back into place instead of it's usual strands over his eyebrows. I can see a sparkle of silver below his shirt across his glowing skin. With his wrist watch half hiding behind his long sleeves, he looks classy as hell, but I unlock my car with my keys and get in pretending to not have noticed him. Ouch.
I can see him walking towards my car from my rear view, but instead of just driving away I wait for him. Not this again. Why cannot I act logically for just one precious time? He bends down and taps on the window. I sigh and scroll it down.
"What?" I ask annoyed.
"Going without a rented boyfriend?" He asks me. Good timing for jokes. I stare straight.
"Yes." I mutter under my breath.
"Sure you don't want one?"
"Our deal is off. Why are you here?" I ask him checking the golden watch I'm wearing that is not even mine.
