Becca released a groan and turned onto her right side, enjoying the comfort around her. A light but cool breeze brushed across her cheek, making her grumble and burrow under the heavy cover. As she settled again, her mind continued stirring awake, and the musky scent near her played with her memories. She remembered coming over to Kal's room, stripping off their clothes, and then fucking until she fell asleep.

Sharply, she opened her eyes after realizing she had fallen asleep on Kal, potentially insulting her Alpha nature. Her racing heart made her scan the nearby space, which was the bed's messy and empty landscape. There was still a familiar muskiness that was strictly Kal's own and most likely meant she slept beside Becca. But Kal had left at some point, and Becca was worried what could happen next. Based on the sunshine lighting up the room, it was the morning after; Becca recalled a few regrets in her past sexual encounters.

Sitting up a little, another soft breeze touched Becca's flushed skin, and she looked toward the source. To the right, a sheer drape fluttered in the air from the light wind off the balcony. Ever so slightly, an outline of a figure's back stood out against the drape.

Biting her lip, Becca considered what to do and visually searched for her clothes. They were neatly folded on a long bench against the opposite wall. She silently cursed when she realized it was unwise to put them on when she smelled like sex, specifically with Kal's scent. Another Kalmar would figure them out in two ticks or faster. However, her attention shifted to the black robe that was resting at the foot of the bed, on her side. It was a silent invite to wear it, so she slid out of the bed and put on the cool, soft clothing. After adjusting it, Becca headed to the balcony and did her best not to trip on the robe due to its length.

Beside the floating drape, Becca made out Kal's distant features and gently offered, 'Good morning.' Unsure how to handle their unusual situation, she remained positioned near the drape so it hid her from the city and any onlookers but kept her in Kal's view.

Kal turned her attention to her new lover and returned the greeting.

In a heartbeat, Becca sensed a different aura from Kal, and it made her tighten her crossed arms. She reminded herself not to overthink last night's choices, something they both made as adults. Becca had accepted both the decision and the potential circumstance if word spread about her and Kal, a human and a Kalmar.

Clearing her throat, Becca mentioned, 'I'll grab my stuff and—'

'Stand out here with me,' Kal ordered.

Becca swallowed first but nodded more confidently and stepped out onto the balcony beside Kal. As she took in the beautiful view of Tarrak, her concerns faded away, leaving her with a thin smile. From so high up, it would be impossible for anyone to see them together, easing her nerves.

'Beautiful, isn't it?'

'Ja,' Becca whispered.

From the fifty-first floor of the Great Tower, the city's buildings and people were painted across the lands until they faded away against the farmland in the distance. To the right was the Koblenz River with wooden ships that sailed, motored, or moved by oar power. Occasionally, a gull's familiar cry traveled across the winds and made it to their ears. Despite the cool day, the sunlight was soothing against Becca's flushed features.
