"- it is both of your carelessness and ignorance that has gotten us to this situation." I hear Lexington's voice faintly over the loud disturbing ring in my ear.

"My carelessness and ignorance? Me? My team and I have been working on this for an entire month, every day. This is just utter bullshit!" I finally snap.

"Miss Carter, mind your language!" Lexington ordered. "Mind my language? I'm not getting a fucking letter of recommendation because of him. Believe it or not, despite the money I have, I need to get a scholarship. I have my future on line here, and what you just kicked him off the Lacrosse team? That's it?! Is it because he's a fucking Beaufort? Well, you should be glad I don't use my parent's money to influence you because I easily could, so yeah, I won't mind my fucking language."

Lexington looks shocked. Not as shocked as me. "Your money would never be enough." James finally spoke up and a rush of anger took hold of me. "Shut the fuck up Beaufort, you two-faced, narcissistic arsehole!"

"Damn." He mumbled. "Well, I'm sorry you feel that way, Miss Carter. You will be given another chance to redeem yourself at the donation gala." I nodded, deciding not to cause another scene.

"And for you Mister Beaufort, As I said before, No more Lacrosse and you will join the event management as well."

"NO!" Me and James yelled at the same time. "Please sir I can't deal with him-"

"Oh, I can't deal with you either!" he interrupted me. "I can't deal with you even more!"

"Both of you, stop. Hear yourselves. Look at this as an opportunity to get along with each other." with that he sent us both out of his office.

"Great, first I lose my letter of recommendation and then I'm stuck with you." I glare at him. "Arabella Carter, I don't get it. Why can't you just buy your way in?" He asks.

"Do you know why I'm friends with Lydia?" I ask him. "Yeah, cause your girls. I guess." He murmurs. "No, I relate to her. She does so much for your family but doesn't get anything in return. Now, I'm not saying I'm some mastermind like her, but I'd like to say I work genuinely hard enough but that doesn't matter. Elijah gets whatever he wants. He's the heir to Carter Jewels." I spoke softly

"I'm sorry, I didn't know this meant so much to you."

"It's fine, I just needed to prove myself in some way," I mumble, knowing that I was confiding way too much in him but I had to get it out.

after an eternity of silence, James spoke up. "Lydia told me the after-party is canceled." He looked at me, his lips morphed into a slick smile.

"Oh. Well, maybe she could host another party."

"Yeah, and um, It's getting late. So we should probably go." He initiates and I nod. "Well, my drivers there. See you." I tell him off quickly and go into my limousine.

What the fuck was that?

time skip to the next day

"Well, the welcome party was a bust." I laughed as I was talking to all the people that worked on this with me.  "Cause of Beaufort!" Someone yelled.

"Yes, but I have even sadder news. He's joining our team."

"How is that sad news?" Lin, Ruby's friend replied laughing. "Funny, but yes, you need to welcome him because he might be here for a long time," I instruct.

"We have one more chance, guys. The Donation Gala. You know this is one of the most important events of the whole year. So we must exceed in this."

"Oh really, we have too?" I hear a hoarse voice to my left and when I turn to see who it is, of course. James.

"Would it kill you to be on time, Beaufort?" I glare at him, avoiding the fact he looks so hot- WHAT NO!

"No, but you're sexy when you get mad." He smirked as the whole class gasped. I felt heat rush up to my cheeks again. "Save that talk for your sluts, Okay?" I brush whatever that was off, as fast as I can and I go on to explain my idea.

"That's kind of basic Bella." James decided to get on my nerves. "Really? Enlighten me." I give him a stiff smile.

"Well, your idea is nice. But, what if you went with something like the Victorian era." his idea was actually really good.

"Yes, we could access all of the collections they had back then. But I can only get to a few... " I turn to James with a pleading look.

"Oh, Arabella, if you think I'm helping you, think again." He smirks. God, I can't with this arsehole.

"James, please, I'll do anything." in my opinion, this was begging.

"Anything?" He asks with a smirk.

That made me rethink what I had just said. "Well, yeah." I mean what could be the worst thing he could ask me for? a foot massage?

time skip to after the meeting.

Turns out I was very wrong. I don't what happened exactly but now James and I are in the make-out closet.

"James, what exactly do you want from me now?" I ask, half expecting to do what we are supposed to do here.

"I think you know exactly why we're here." He leans in and tucks a piece of my hair behind my ear.

"This is so messed up." I look to the floor, hiding the fact that my cheeks are redder than a tomato.

He makes me face his face while lifting my chin. "You're so beautiful. You know that?" he whispers, while I feel electric shock running up my body.

"I get whatever I want Bella. And I want you." With that, his mouth was on mine, and my mind went blank. I didn't care about the fact that I hated him, all I cared about was that I needed to kiss him back.

So I did. The pressure of his lips and the Smooth slide of his tongue against mine. His fingers slipped onto my hair and I gave as much as access possible.

A moan slipped from my mouth to his. He took his hands down to my hips and tightened his grip around them.

A kiss with James. The most majestic kiss. It should've felt wrong but it feels perfectly right.

Suddenly I pull away, realizing what I just did. "Oh my god." I gasp while he chuckles. "Why would you do that?" I glare at him.

"You shouldn't have kissed me back if you didn't want me to do it."

And suddenly I felt stumped. One of the feelings I hated the most.

"So now what?" I ask, looking directly at him, and I wish I didn't because his eyes could make any girl melt.

"This was only a one-time thing Carter, don't think we'll do it again." He laughs and I hit him playfully.

"I should go to class," I tell him and he nods while I walk out of the closet.

Why did I do that? And why do I want to do it again?
