Luke's Point Of View

You know the feeling of cold chills running down your spine as you crave for the touch of someone? To me, this was a common thing I dealt with on a daily basis. The coffee shop I worked at was always quite busy. Although it was busy, I always remembered one face. Him. He showed up everyday. Always walking in with a novel to read while he sipped his coffee. Every time he walked in, I made sure I took his order. I couldn't get over his bright green eyes and light brown messy hair. His warm grin gave me a fuzzy feeling in my stomach. There wasn't much of point of crushing over him; I mean I'm a loser, not in his league. What if he wasn't..into boys? If only girls caught his attention. All of those thoughts overwhelmed me until one very special day.

{A Thursday Afternoon}

A normal boring day of work. Surely there could be something better to do. I tapped my pen on the counter. Business was slow today. But everything lit up when I heard the door open. Nate. I instantly stood up straight with a big grin on my face.

"Good afternoon, Luke." these words left his lips.

"Pleasant day it is," I began to say, "the usual?"

A smile pierced his lips. "Ah, yes."

As I began to turn to go make his coffee, I heard him whisper, "Hey, Luke?"

"Y...Yes?" I managed to stutter out as I turned around.

"Would like to maybe..go on a date with me sometime?"

"I would be delighted to."

And as soon as I gave him his coffee, he slipped me the money and a paper with his number.

"Call me tonight after you get off." He said as he went to sit down.
