Too Soon

"Guys, we got something!" Soonyoung hyung shouted the moment I and Jun reached the meeting spot.

"OMG! What is it?!"

The entire room went silent for a while before Joshua spoke up - "Jeonghan-ah..."

"Yeah, right, I'm sorry. You guys carry on." replied Jeonghan who joined us online a few seconds ago as well.

"Seokmin, you remember the drugs we got from your hyung previously - we found where they are stored!"

Jihoon, the police chief spoke up - "Well, not exactly 'we'...it was Seungkwan. He single-handedly figured out the location."

"Yep! Our department's ace did it!" Soonyoung hyung exclaimed, clapping.

"Don't be so overexcited. It was not single-handedly - I had seniors from the major crimes department help me as well." Seungkwan replied. He tried to act cool but he looked quite obviously too shy because of the compliment he just received from his higher-ups.

"Regardless, what do you intend to do now?" The leader, Seungcheol, spoke up, almost impatient and eager to finally put an end to it all.

"We need to catch them in action to deal with them clearly - for which we need their schedule - and this is where Minghao comes in. He had already infiltrated about a week ago and though he's still under supervision, he can get some info to us. Once we get the schedule, we'll corner them."

"All good. Except - we are extremely low on people. My gang is probably the largest team involved in this plan on our side but there are not many capable and willing people there."

"Actually..." Jeonghan was interrupted by Jihoon's ringtone.

"It's Minghao." Woozi informed us, alerted, as he received the call and put it on speaker. "Hello?"

"It's tomorrow."

"What?"

"The next drug deal - it's tomorrow."

We were all shook by the sudden information. We no longer have enough time to prepare for anything - not for backups, not for setting up an almost foolproof strategy - nothing.

We discussed on it for a while more based on the information previously collected by the police, the past experiences of the gang, added to the intel from Jeonghan about the inner systems - it was decided that I and Jun, along with Soonyoung hyung and Chan will hide near the warehouse beforehand. Vernon will hack the nearby CCTVs and on his cue, Jihoon hyung and Seungcheol hyung will enter. Mingyu will stay with Vernon, in case something unexpected comes up and the strategy needs a quick change, as Mingyu is capable of quick thinking based on his position in the gang which requires it from him more often than never. Seungkwan will talk with other police departments for some backup. As for Jeonghan hyung - he would visit the headquarters to discuss some 'concerns' with the mafia boss to make sure no information regarding this reaches the mafia boss in time.

"Are you sure you'll be fine...? It's the mafia boss we're talking about." asked a worried Joshua.

"Don't worry Joshuji. I know that man more than anyone else existing on Earth currently, does."

Jeonghan put off the call with that ambiguous line, certainly not helping the growing concern in Joshua even a bit.

After I and Jun talked with Soonyoung hyung and Chan on when and where to meet, we all dispersed, putting an end to the meeting.

"Are you gonna go for sure? Didn't your hyung tell you not to...?"

"I'm still sad and worried about that...but, I'm an adult now and I can choose on what to do myself. And what I wanna do now is help everyone." Hyung's words have been on my mind since that day but I decided to not be all stuck up on that.
