The evening descended upon Seoul, casting a golden hue over the city's skyline, as Ruka and Minji found themselves seated at their favorite café. Nestled amidst the labyrinth of streets in Gangnam, the café was a familiar haven. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the chatter of patrons, creating a comforting ambiance-a sanctuary from the chaos of the outside world.

With steaming cups cradled in their hands, Ruka watched as Minji's gaze lingered on the bustling streets beyond the café window. The vibrant life outside seemed a stark contrast to the quiet turmoil reflected in Minji's eyes. Ruka sipped her coffee, trying to read the unspoken thoughts behind her sister's distant expression.

"Is everything alright, bro?" Ruka's voice broke the silence, her concern evident in the furrow of her brow.

Startled from her reverie, Minji turned to face her sister. A faint smile played on her lips-a facade barely concealing the turmoil brewing beneath the surface. Ruka's heart tightened, sensing the unspoken weight in Minji's demeanor.

"I need to ask you something, Ru," Minji began, her tone betraying a hint of apprehension.

Ruka's heart skipped a beat, sensing the gravity of her sister's words even before they were spoken. The moments stretched between them, heavy with unvoiced fears and unspoken trust.

"Of course, Ji. You know you can always count on me," Ruka replied, her voice steady despite the unease gnawing at her insides.

Minji leaned in closer, her eyes locking with Ruka's, a silent plea lingering in their depths. "I have to go on a business trip next week, and I need a favor from you," Minji revealed, her words measured and deliberate.

Ruka nodded, her curiosity piqued yet tinged with a sense of foreboding. The familiarity of the request felt off-kilter against the backdrop of their tranquil sanctuary.

"What is it that you need, bro?" Ruka asked, her voice barely above a whisper, as if afraid of what the answer might entail.

"I need you to let Pharita stay in our apartment while I'm away," Minji confessed, her gaze faltering ever so slightly under the weight of her request.

Pharita-a name that sent a ripple of uncertainty coursing through Ruka's veins. Though she tried to conceal her unease behind a mask of composure, Ruka couldn't shake the nagging feeling about this favor. The name sounded vaguely familiar, echoing in the recesses of her mind, but Ruka brushed it off, dismissing it as a mere coincidence.

"I... I don't know, Ji. Are you sure about this?" Ruka's words hung in the air, heavy with doubt and apprehension. She hasn't met Minji's girlfriend yet. She just knew the two began dating last month. She was never interested in Minji's love life because she knows her sister changes girlfriends like she's changing clothes. But she could tell that this time, her twin finally found her match. However, Ruka couldn't shake the nagging feeling that something about this favor was off.

Minji reached out, gently grasping Ruka's hand in hers, her eyes pleading for understanding. "Please, it's only for a few days. I wouldn't ask if it weren't important," Minji implored, her voice laced with desperation.

Ruka looked at their entwined hands, feeling the warmth of Minji's touch and the cold dread of her own fears. She remembered the countless times Minji had been there for her, a pillar of strength and support. How could she deny her now, in a moment of need?

"But why does Pharita need a place to stay? She doesn't have any other friends to stay with, or what?" Ruka asked, hoping to gain some clarity. She searched Minji's face for answers, trying to understand the urgency behind the request.

Minji sighed, her eyes momentarily drifting back to the bustling streets outside. "Rita's been living with her best friend, Ahyeon, since she moved to Seoul from Thailand. Ahyeon's moving to Jeju next week and selling her house. Rita hasn't found a new place yet, and with my trip coming up, I can't leave her stranded. She's a fashion designer, working hard to make a name for herself here. She needs a stable place to stay until she finds something permanent."

Ruka frowned, her mind racing with questions. "I don't know, Minji. It's just strange. I've never even met her, and now she's supposed to stay with me?"

"I get it," Minji said softly, her eyes were earnest. "But trust me, Pharita is a good person. She just needs a little help right now. Please, bro. For me?"

Ruka absorbed Minji's words, understanding the urgency and gravity of the situation. Caught between her devotion to her sister and the uneasy feeling gnawing at her heart, Ruka found herself at a crossroads-a decision that would set into motion a chain of events she never could have anticipated. She took a deep breath, her resolve hardening.

"Alright, Minji," Ruka said softly, her voice firming with determination. "I'll do it. Rita can stay at the apartment while you're away."

Minji's relief was palpable, her grip on Ruka's hand tightening momentarily before she pulled her sister into a grateful embrace. As the evening deepened, casting long shadows through the café's windows, Ruka couldn't shake the lingering sense of foreboding. The decision was made, but the journey ahead remained uncertain, fraught with challenges and revelations she couldn't yet foresee.
