"I can't believe I'm going to school!" Said 5 year old Emma.
"Calm down Emma or there might be a beating in your future." her dad exclaimed.
"But daddy..."
"EMMA!" Her father yelled.
Emma waited for her father to turn around. Then she stuck her tongue out and made faces at his back. Emma was only 3 when her mom died. Her father started to take his anger out on her right after her mom died. She had always thought she did something wrong when in fact her father didn't even want her! He wanted to have a child but one with a partner, a friend, a lover, his wife. When Emma's mom, Johanna, died, his life fell apart. He lost his job, he couldn't keep his house, and his parents wouldn't let him live with them. Beating Emma was his "stress reliever".
"Come on Emma" her dad said firmly. "Okay, okay!" Emma said eagerly.
They hoped into a white painters van and were off to school.(like a heard of turtles)
