I had come to New York on my father's advice. I had to complete my master's degree, I even thought that I would be fine in India but they sent me to New York University.

It had been a year since I came here, I was so engrossed in studies, friends and New York life that I didn't even miss home

It had been a year since I came here, I was so engrossed in studies, friends and New York life that I didn't even miss home. Veer and I lived in an apartment. Ver was also from Mumbai, from a Gujrati family. He also came here to do Masters in Business so that he could take care of his family business.

But sir was more fond of photography. Mary Aunty lived on the floor just below the apartments; she had no children of her own, so she used to take care of both of us. She had learned half of Hindi for us in just one year. What to say about America's weekend night lifestyle, lights all around, crowds, smiling people. Veer and I also used to spend weekends like this. That day also Veer and I were roaming in the streets carrying beer cans. Veer would start taking photos of whatever he liked.

He was taking photos of a shop and suddenly a girl came in front of him and said, "Hey, are the recording right now?" Veer choked

He was taking photos of a shop and suddenly a girl came in front of him and said, "Hey, are the recording right now?" Veer choked. He suddenly shook his head in the negative. Some boys also came out with the girl. I felt things getting worse so I also went ahead. I said "It's a misunderstanding miss! He is not taking your picture." A boy said "Give me your camera ." They were drunk. Veer and I looked at each other, then suddenly a voice came. "Oye! Mango pickles.(aam ke achar)".

Veer and I were shocked. I looked back and couldn't believe my eyes for a few moments. Standing in front was Arisha, wearing a long black coat with her hands deep in the coat's pocket. Yes, it was Arisha, she had become taller and her hair was even shorter. She was looking at me smiling and I was looking at her with surprise.

The second chapter of our journey had begun.
