Allegra: Hey Rondo.

Rondo: What's up sis?

Allegra: I was just wondering if you have found someone to go to the dance with.

Rondo: No. Not yet. But I think I might know.

Allegra: Ok bye.

Rondo: Wait. What about you? Who are you going with?

Allegra: Um, just a friend.

Rondo: Well, have fun.

Allegra: You too.

Riff: Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god.

Reed: Are you alright?

Riff: No. Since tonight's the big dance, I am going to tell a special someone I love her.

Reed: I see. You're nervous.

Riff: Yeah. Very.

Reed: Don't worry. Everyone gets nervous when they tell their special someone they love them. But I know you'll do great.

Riff: Really?

Reed: Yeah. I bet Allegra would love it once you tell her.

Riff: How did you know I was talking about her?

Reed: You love her more than any other girl, and you talk about her a lot. And think about her.

Riff: Good point. Should I wear a tuxedo for the dance?

Reed: If you want to. By the way, you are going with Allegra, right?

Riff: Yep. I promised I would go with her so that way she wouldn't be alone.

Reed: Let's hope you don't break her promise. Breaking promises is not good.

Riff: I won't. I'm gonna put on my tuxedo.

Reed: I'm gonna set up the dance party.

Rondo: Hi Reed.

Reed: Hey Rondo.

Rondo: Where's Riff?

Reed: He's putting on his tuxedo.

Rondo: Ok thanks. Hey buddy.

Riff: Hi Rondo. What's up?

Rondo: So do you wanna go to the dance with me and just hang out as cool guys?

Riff: Uh . . . I don't know.

Rondo: Why not?

Riff: Because . . . (turns red) I'm already going with Allegra.

Rondo: You are?

Riff: Yeah why?

Rondo: Well, Allegra told me she was going with someone, but I didn't know who.

Riff: Yeah, that would be me.

Rondo: Oh. (bummed and thinking that they are no longer friends)

Riff: Wait. How about this? I go with you to the dance and hang out, then I go hang out with Allegra. I can do both.

Rondo: Ok. Let's hope it works.

Riff: I know for a fact that it will work. You can trust the Riffster.

Rondo: Half of the times I don't trust you.

Riff: This time, you can trust me.

(a little while later)

(it becomes nighttime)

Riff: Alright. Let's do this thing. (knocks on the door)

Rondo: Hey buddy. Allegra is looking for a dress to wear.

Riff: Oh that's cool. And don't you worry. I'm gonna hang out with you once we get to the dance.

Rondo: Alright then buddy. We're gonna have a blast at this dance. You and me, buddy bros.

Riff: Yeah.

Allegra: What are you talking about?

Rondo: Oh hey Allegra. We'll meet you at the dance, ok? We're gonna hang out.

Allegra: What? But Riff said he was going with me.

Rondo: Well the thing is, (blurts it out) Riff is hanging out with me at the dance and not you.

Allegra: What?!

Riff: What?

Rondo: Uh . . . I uh . . .

Allegra: (starts to get extremely upset at Riff) RIFF, HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?! YOU SAID THAT YOU WERE GOING TO THE DANCE WITH ME!

Rondo: Yeah, well, he also wants to hang out with his buddy. Not just you.

Allegra: (tears start coming out of her eyes) 😢 You don't understand Rondo. Riff asked if I wanted to go to the dance with him. He asked me first this morning. I said yes. And he promised me that he would go with me so that I would not be alone.

Rondo: You promised her?

Riff: Yeah.

Rondo: You didn't tell me.

Allegra: Well he should've. What kind of friend just breaks their promise like that? You apparently. You know what? I'm not going. Especially not with him!

Riff: I'm so sorry Allegra!

Allegra: Sorry my butt Riff. We're no longer friends.

Rondo: Uh oh.

Allegra: (cries upstairs to her room)

Riff: Oh no. No no no no no no no. (tears are about to come out of his eyes)

Rondo: Riff, it's okay.

Riff: No it's not! Just leave me alone!

Rondo: But I . . . (sighs) Nevermind.
