Part 4: Making Promises

Allegra: (singing) La la la la la. Tonight is the big dance. I am so excited.

(Riff slowly walks into Allegra's room while she isn't looking)

Riff: Morning Allegra!

Allegra: AAAAAHHHHH!!!!! Oh. Riff. It's just you. You scared the living doodlehead out of me!

Riff: Wait. So I scared the living you out of you? (gasps) Oh no! I killed you! I'm so sorry Allegra! I didn't mean to kill you! Don't worry. I know what CPR is and I'm going to help you. Just close your eyes and let me kiss you on the lips.

Allegra: Wait what?

Riff: Don't talk. I'm saving your life.

Allegra: Riff, I am fine.

Riff: Dang it! I wanted to kiss you!

Allegra: What?

Riff: Nothing. (looks away turning red)

Allegra: What are you doing here?

Riff: I wanted to ask you something.

Allegra: And what would that be?

Riff: Well, uh, (starts turning red) I was wondering if you would want to go to the Hummingbird Alley dance with me.

Allegra: (gasps) You're asking me out of all people?

Riff: Yeah. If that's not what you want, I can leave and ask someone else.

Allegra: No. Don't go. I just can't believe you're asking me. The annual Hummingbird Alley dance happens every other year. And, you're usually asking Rondo or someone that's not me.

Riff: Well, I decided that you should be with a close friend who's been there for you lately.

Allegra: Aww. You're so sweet. Do you promise that you'll go with me?

Riff: I promise.

Allegra: Then yes. I would love to go to the dance with you.

Riff: Really?!

Allegra: Yes!

Riff: Oh yeah man! This is gonna be the best dance ever! I'll see you tonight.

Allegra: Back at you. I'm so excited.

(a little while later)

Lindi: Hi Allegra. How are you doing?

Allegra: Doing great Lindi. Are you here to ask if I want to go to the dance with you?

Lindi: No actually. I wanted to tell you that I am going with Poco. Who are you going with?

Allegra: Um, this might sound silly, but, I'm going with Riff.

Lindi: Riff?

Allegra: Yeah. He asked me and I said yes. Sounds silly I know.

Lindi: Not that silly. Kind of expecting it. Well, I hope you have a great time with him.

Allegra: Thank you. Now, what dress should I wear? A gold one, a silver one, or a pink one? Tough choice.

Lindi: Hey Riff.

Riff: What Lindi?

Lindi: Allegra told me you're going with her to the dance.

Riff: Yeah. But, there is one thing I'm going to tell her at the dance.

Lindi: Are you finally going to tell her your feelings for her?

Riff: (sighs) Yes I am.

Lindi: Oh boy. (barks) I can't wait to hear you say those three words to her face.

Riff: You won't be hearing any of the conversation.

Lindi: Aww man. You're so mean to your own sister.

Riff: I don't like it when you call yourself my own sister. I don't like it when anybody calls you my sister and me your brother.

Lindi: Whatever.
