Ch 14
In the last events that took place, Shiryu was defeated by his old friend Eric. Serena was passing to get some groceries since they were running low on food and found Shiryu unconscious in the alley and rushed to get help at LDS.
When Reji heard of this, he immediately took leave of his office and rushed over to ask Serena the details of what happened.
"Serena" Reji greeted as she turned toward him.
"Reji, it's good to see you. I don't know what happened, but I found Shiryu unconscious in an alley not far from LDS. I assume this had something to do with what you must've discussed with Shiryu before." Serena says.
"Indeed," Reji confirmed. "I had discussed with Shiryu the possibility of an Academia agent being seen here in Miami City."
"Are you serious?" Serena became surprised as Reji nodded.
"Is the name Eric Slades familiar to you?" Reji responds as Serena widened her eyes.
"How do you know of him? Don't tell me he was the one who attacked Shiryu?" Serena skeptically asks.
"Shiryu spoke of him. I was merely curious as to who this individual is seeing on how Shiryu never really met him before. I just want to know who we're dealing with since he is our prime suspect of being the one who had attacked Shiryu," Reji responds.
"Well for starters Eric Slades is an enigma. As far as I've heard, he just appeared out of no where and risen through the ranks of Duel Academy faster than anyone has before. He's not really been seen around often but I've heard rumors that he specializes in a deck that revolves around trap cards. That's about all I know of him."
"Thank you for the information Serena. My team and I will see to it that whoever did this to Shiryu will be caught and be prevented from causing anymore harm in Miami City." Reji says as Serena thanks him and leaves the room.
Timeskip 3 Days
"Ughh what happened?" Shiryu groans as he began looking around his hospital room, wondering what happened and how he got here.
"You're at the hospital in LDS." A voice interjects as Shiryu looked to his right and saw Reji reading a book before closing it and walking toward Shiryu's bed.
"How are you feeling?" Reji questions as Shiryu then sighs, "I've had better days."
Shiryu suddenly looks at Reji again as he came to a realization.
"Wait R-reji? What are you doing here? Aren't you usually busy in your office at this time?" Shiryu asks as Reji adjusts his glasses.
"That I am, however I had a bit of spare time and wanted to pay you a visit to see how your recovery is going since I consider you my greatest friend and ally." Reji admits before continuing on, "Shiryu, I want to know exactly what happened to you. Was it...." Reji trailed off before Shiryu nods confirming his suspicions, "Yes... Eric decided to ambush me and in the process I got my ass handed to me on a silver platter."
"Hmm....this has become quite a mess, having a duelist of his caliber as an enemy can seriously hinder the plans I have in mind." Reji sighs as Shiryu widened his eyes remembering a major factor that led to his demise.
"Reji there is something I need to tell you about Eric." Shiryu states getting Reji's attention.
