-Hi, can I help you?

-Hi, I know it's a little late but I'd like to talk about my grade on this assignment

He leans back in his chair and looks at her for a moment

-Okay. What about it?

-I believe I deserve a full mark. I got everything right

He raises an eyebrow at her

-So you're saying that all your answers are correct?

-Yes they are, she says in a confident tone

He leans a bit foward in his chair

-And you're absolutly confident that there's nothing you  have gotten wrong

-Absolutly

-I admire your confidence. So let's see here...

He opens her assignment and flips through it for a bit

-And why should I give you max points?

-Because I deserve it

-And why would you deserve it? Everyone else in class didn't get a 100%, why should you be the exception?

-I'm not everyone in class

-Is that so, Miss...

He  knew her well but he pretended to look glance at her name in his screen

-...Moore. So what makes you special that you deserve to get a max point and no one else does?

-Because I'm the top student of your class and also your favorite

He looks directly at her

-And that means what exactly? That I should favor you or that you're better than the other students and therefore you should get better gardes than them?

-Both?

He furrows his eyesbrows together

-I beg to differ Miss Moore. While I have no doubt that you're talented and quite brilliant, I do not favor you in any way and I fail to see why you should get a better grade than your peers, just because you're a little smarter than the rest

She scoff and sit in the chair in front of his desk

-A little smarter? Might I remind Mr William that only few of the students here are able to pass his class?

He smirks at her slight arrogance. That's what he liked about her. She was smart, confident, a bit arrogant and oh so attractive.

-I'm well aware of how few people have managed to pass my class the past years. It's true that you're gifted, but it doesn't mean you're above the other students here. They work hard just like you do to get their grades. Just because they haven't made it to the top does not mean that you're better than them.

-I disagree

He sighs

-What will it take?

He frowns confused by her sudden question

-What do you mean by that?

-What will it take for you to change my grade?

He looks at her for a while

-Are you trying to bribe me Miss Moore?

-Maybe

He sits quietly as he contemplates her audacity
