Josie

"Yes Mom- I have everything.. my charger- toothpaste, toothbrush... I'm sure I'm not missing anything." Her words came off more annoyed than usual. Josie wasn't meaning to be rude but she knew how her mother could be. Caroline had always wanted what was good for the girls regardless. That's why Josie had gone to Belgium to begin with. Because she thought it would be better at the all girl school, where Penelope had mentioned. Whilst she was there, her and Penelope became friends again.. without the hovering of Lizzie their relationship between the two blossomed. But Josie knew they couldn't be together again because she had feelings for someone else. It wasn't right to toy with someone's feelings as she wouldn't want it done to her.. "Josette-" Caroline's voice broke the thoughts she was consumed in. "Still here mom." She said whilst shoving some more clothes into her duffle bag.. "Your plane leaves at noon, please call me when you land.. if you have any trouble I'll be there okay?" There was a slight sigh before the words came out. "Yes mom, I'll be there before you know it.. don't worry I'll be fine." Her words became more believable than she would've thought. However she wasn't worried about the flight ride home, she was worried about being 'home'. She left for a reason, but deep down the teen wondered if she left for the right reason. "I love you, I'll see you soon.." before Caroline had a moment to speak Josie ended the call. Letting only the sound of her shoving her clothing into the bag fill the room. Turning to the big wooden dresser, she grabbed the rest of her clothes. Holding them together so they would fit in the Same bag she started to pack days ago. Penelope had stopped by for a few hours to give her farewells to the Gemini witch. As much as they went through together, of course the young witch would stop to say goodbye. Josie bestowed her with a great responsibility. The one thing that could kill hope, the weapon that she had sent only 2 years ago. Whether Hope trusted Penelope or not, Josie did and she knew that it would be in good hands till she figured out what else to do with it. I mean let's be honest, she couldn't exactly travel with something that large nor sharp. TSA would tear her to shreds before it was over with.

There was a slight knock on the wooden door. Probably more people are coming to wish Josie goodbye and safe travels. However when she opened the door, a dark haired woman stood facing away from her. Josie knew it was before the girl spoke.. "I'm just now leaving.." the strap of the bag now over her shoulder as she began to zip it up.. "I thought you would've been gone by now.. you've always wanted to get places early to make sure you weren't late.. but I was just coming to check so I could let headmaster Vanessa know- I'm sorry if-" her words were cut short. "If what? You were bothering me? Which you're not, I'm just running a little behind. My mom called- and all.. worried as per usual." The door closed and she inserted her key one last time to lock it before grabbing Penelope's hand and placing the key in her grasp. "It was good to see you one last time.. for old time sake-" she trailed off.. "Wait" , grabbing Josie's hand she held it tight. "I- " the brunette witch watched as Penelope pulled her close, then placed her rose colored lips on hers. What was she doing- Josie's thoughts consumed her. All she could think about was the first time her and Penelope had kissed. The magic in that moment forever lived in her head. However this wasn't that first kiss, the Saltzman hurriedly pushed Penelope away. "Why- " her hand gently rubbed her lips, while she searched for an answer.. "I wanted to give you a reason to stay- you've been happy here.. you've made friends here- you're just going to leave that all behind for the Salvatore boarding school?" Her words, daggers to the twin and that now stood only a few inches away. "That was your big plan?" Josie was beyond upset as she crossed her arms in front of her chest.. "to kiss me and hope that I'll just magically stay- I don't have to run anymore from the Gemini curse Penelope... Lizzie took care of that." She said bitterly.. she wanted to be there for her- and she wasn't and that guilt would stay with her. "Come on Jo- you can't tell me that in the years you've been here that you don't feel even a little sad about leaving? You made a home for yourself here- I stayed for YOU!" A faint tear rushed down her face. "I didn't tell you too." Josie's words were merely a whisper, though she understood where Penelope was coming from.. this moment was like one so familiar- yet she still left in the end. "Jo- please. I'm asking you to stay.." rushing she grabbed her hands and held them together with hers. The siphon stood, her hands intertwined with the witch she once loved.. "you know I can't do that.." finally pulling away the brunette gathered herself, before walking away. Leaving Penelope in the slowly filling hallway. Did it hurt to leave, yes. But deep down Josie knew why she had to return to mystic falls, but she wasn't going to admit it to herself.
