|| Y/N's POV ||

Sam started driving toward this diner that we used to go to for breakfast.

He found a parking spot and we hopped out.

"Are we going to the cliffs?" I whispered to Sam so Gilinsky wouldn't be annoying us with questions about the cliffs.

"No, not today." he whispered back opening the door for me.

When we walked in we got seated in a booth.

I was sitting next to Gilinsky and Sam sat across from us.

"Oh Sam you look lonely, you should've brought your girlfriend." I pouted sarcastically.

"Oh fuck no. I love her, be she gets hella annoying." he said rubbing his temples.

I don't know why but I kinda tensed up when he said he 'loved her'

"Hi I'm Mindy and I'll be your waitress for this morning, can I get you guys started with some drinks?!" She asked a little to perky.

"Can I get an orange juice?" I asked, and she nodded scribbling away I her note pad.

"I'll have a coke." Sam replied.

"And I'll have an orange juice as well." Jack joined in.

"I'll have those right out for you!" She said walking away.

"So!" I said trying to get a conversation going.

"So Y/N, I brought you out for breakfast to apologize. I'm sorry for getting mad at you for being with Matt, I'm sorry for ignoring you and trying to be happy without you, but more importantly I'm sorry for leaving you, I shouldn't have over reacted." he spoke.

"Sam, it's okay. You know when you left I went through light depression." I sighed.

I tried not to let anyone know. No boy knew that I would cry myself to sleep when Sam first left. I tried to act like it didn't bother me, but it was so depressing without Sam.

He looked at me.

"Y/N, I'm so sorry. I really had no idea me leaving would ever impact you like that." he said softly.

"It's okay. Look you found yourself something better." I said referring to his girlfriend.

"Yea but I would've been happier with you." he quietly mumbled.

"Okay guys! Here are your drinks! Are you guys ready to order?"

-

We finished breakfast and left.

"Hey there's going to be a party tonight at our house!" Jack said breaking the awkward silence in the car.

"Oh! I'm SOO down! I'll totally tell Matt!" I said.

"Sweet! It starts at 7." Sam finished for Jack.

"Alright thanks for the great morning guys!" I said and hugged Sam in the car and waved to Gilinsky as I stepped out.

-

"Matthew I'm home!" I yelled.

Nothing.

"I brought you bagels from Panera!" I yelled again.

Again nothing.

That usually gets him running out of the hall ways.

I started walking towards the room, the door was cracked open.

I saw 2 figures. A male and a female. Talking.

It was Matt and MADISON.

They kept talking, it looked like she was apologizing.

Then Matt started to lean in, and they kissed.

Oh hell naw.

"Matt what the fuck?" i yelled.

He jumped and turned around.

"Y/N I'm sorry, just hear me out." he spoke.

"Go, speak." I wanted to hear what he had to say.

"Y/N, Madison's dad died from cancer." my heart shattered and she started crying even more.

"Madison, I'm so sorry." I went to go hug her.

"Y/N, you're actually being nice to me?!" She said with a little happiness in her voice.

"Madison, I never knew. I'm sure he's in a happy place now." I told her cleaning all the mascara from her face.

"Thank you Y/N, and I never meant to get in between you and Matt. I'm so sorry. I hope we can move on from the past and become friends." she asked.

"Of course." I said embracing her into another hug.

"Well I have to get going." she said collecting her things and leaving.

I turned around and smacked Matt in face.

"Ow! What the fuck?" Matt said raising his voice.

"Just because some girls dad died, does not mean you can go and kiss her!" I yelled smacking him again.

"Quit hitting me." he said rubbing his face.

"Then quit kissing and getting with other girls." I yelled.

Matt stayed quiet.

"There's a party tonight at my house, we're going. Got it!" I yelled at him.

"Yes ma'am." he huffed.

"Come on. I'll get you some ice for your face." I lead him towards the kitchen.
