☆Y/N's POV

"Alright, Superstars! Craft Time! Clean up!" Sunny shouted, megaphone in hand. Okay, who had given this man a megaphone?  You thought to yourself, rolling your eyes. You started rounding up the kids and herding them out of the enormous playset. There was one kid who was sitting in the corner of one of the structures with a small block fort beside him. He looked like one of the older kids. Probably ten or eleven years old.

You slid down one of the tunnels and approached Sunny, who was having all the kids sit in groups at tables scattered around a matted space. You tapped his shoulder. "Sunny?" He turned to you, smiling widely. "There's one kid still up there-" You pointed to where the boy sat, still working on his fort.

Sunny's smile faltered slightly. "That's Jack." He pinched the bridge of his nose, sighing. "He's a handful. I'm sure you can handle him, though. Just be... assertive." You nodded slowly.

"I can do that!" You straightened your posture and climbed back up to the platform he was playing on. You approached him slowly.

"Uh- heyyyy, there, buddy-" You tried reaching a hand out to him. He stared at it blankly, then at you, as if you'd just suggested he eat broccoli on purpose. "It's time to go do some crafts. Are your legs broken...?" You tilted your head, smiling slightly. His response was immediate as he threw a block he was playing with; it sailed through the air, smacking against the side of your face with unexpected force. "Ouch!" You hissed, covering the stinging bruise as you stepped backward, narrowly avoiding a follow-up projectile - a suspiciously wet stuffed animal. Disgusting.

Rubbing your cheek, you attempted a different approach, keeping your voice low and steady. "Come on, Jack, let's go make something cool with glitter glue. You can build whatever you want."

Jack scoffed, his voice dripping with annoyance and disdain. "Glitter's stupid. I'm not a baby." He turned back to his blocks, dismissing  you and your offer with a flick of his hand. You took a deep breath in, clenching and unclenching your fists. This, ladies and gentlemen, is why you never want kids.

Feeling your patience waning but determined to uphold your responsibilities, you squared your shoulders. "Jack, craft time is not optional. Let's go, now," You said, your tone firmer than before. This kid was definitely getting on your last nerve.

Jack glared at you, his eyes defiant. "Make me," He challenged, crossing his arms over his chest.

At that moment, you realized that maybe assertiveness alone wasn't going to cut it with Jack. You needed a different strategy, one that didn't escalate into a battle of wills you were likely to lose. Taking a slow breath, you decided to give it one last shot before calling for backup.

"Jack, I know you might not like glitter, but today Mr. Sunny tells me we're also building mini catapults. You can use them to launch small pom-poms. Doesn't that sound more fun than just sitting here?" You tried, hoping to tap into his love for building things - even if it meant weaponizing craft supplies. You just hoped he wouldn't use it to launch any more blocks.

Jack paused, then turned back to his blocks. "I think I'll survive." That was it. You snarled under your breath and scoffed.

"Sunny!" You shouted. "You handle it!" You stormed off to the slides again. You tugged on the hat, taking breaths and trying to calm down.

Jack gave you a vicious look. "Tattle-tale!" He growled scathingly. You wanted to strangle that little brat. Sunny eventually made his way up into the playset space.
