~ Mother's Mercy ~
~ Days Before ~

Myrcella and I made another lap around the Water Gardens, our arms intertwined so we could keep pace with one another while we spoke of the events that had happened since she'd left Kings Landing "I know about mother and Uncle Jaime" she muttered so quietly I almost missed it.

"Know what?" I managed to stutter out past the lump that had appeared suddenly in my throat.

"I know that I'm not Robert's natural born daughter and that Uncle Jaime and my mother had an affair" I stopped so suddenly her arm was jerked backwards so she was now facing me.

"What did you just say?" I asked her my voice had gone to a whisper making her own widen in fear.

"I know that Uncle Jaime is my father, I've told no one" her shaking hand took my own and she squeezed them gently "I take it by your reaction that you know the truth?"

"I've known for a while" I mumbled shaking my head, now was not about me "how long have you known? Who have you told?"

She laughed shakily "I've known for sometime as well, since before we went to Winterfell, Trystane knows, he was there when Doran got the letter from Lord Stannis" she pushed her hair behind her ear with a sigh "they're different here then in the Capital, Doran didn't throw a fuss, he said that he didn't care who my father was, he said that because I made Trystane happy that's what he cared about, Trystane said the same" she shrugged "did uncle Jaime tell you?"

"No," I said also sighing, if Doran was in the know and didn't care than that's what was important "the same letter that found Doran found my brother Robb," I said as a lump formed in my throat at the thought of my brother "I had overheard them talking, Robb handed me the letter and your uncle and I had a little discussion" she giggled at my words "he had told me about the affair with your mother but not that it had bore children, he thought that if he'd told me that it would change how I viewed you and Tommen" I fixed her windswept hair and grinned "as if that would stop me from loving you both as much as I do"

I released the raven and watched as it carried my message towards Pentos, Jaime and I had been in Dorne for a fortnight planning Myrcella's escape, I just prayed that Varys was right about his friend Illyrio being a just man.

Arms wrapped around my waist as Jaime came up from behind me "this friend of yours better protect Myrcella" he muttered into my ear "or I'm taking my pound of flesh" he nipped my neck making me chuckle and roll my eyes.

"From what Varys has said Illyrio is powerful and has many homes, Illyrio himself has offered her a home near the Bay of Pentos and a few guards to add to the ones Doran is sending with her" I turned and ran my hand up his cheek gently.

"And you believe Cersei will buy this whole plan?" His eyes flickered between mine and I grinned.

"Cersei will believe it because she's looking for enemies," I told him truthfully, Cersei had been getting closer to madness since Joffery had been murdered her paranoia had come out to play and I wasn't afraid to use it exactly as she has taught me when I was a child.

Jaime grumbled at my neck and smoothed my hair down with his golden hand "we leave soon, are you ready to say goodbye to Oberyn?" My heart sank at his words, Oberyn and Ellaria had decided that they would go with Myrcella across the Narrow Sea as her escorts.

"Yes, I believe so, Myrcella is going to the markets today to set up the plan, she'll pick up her lion figures that she'd bought from a craftsman, the rest will merely be smoke and shadows" I turned in Jaime's arms and leaned more into his embrace, "Myrcella talked to you didn't she?" Jaime nodded silently and I sighed "it's better that she knows than living her life thinking Robert was her father" I kissed his lips gently and moved away from him.
