8 The skate park

Julie laid down on her bed. She listened to "Starboy" by Weeknd. Someone texted her. She looked at her phone. It was Chloe asking her to hang out with them tonight. Julie said of course and started to pick out her clothes. She chose black flared jeans, white crop top, some accessories and put her hair on two loose braids. She took baby hair out of her braids, looked at the mirror and nodded. That's okay. She ran downstairs and said to her dad:

"I'm going out"

"With who?"

"Elijah and our friends"

"Okay" Julie ran to Elijah's car and jumped in. They drove and chatted a bit.

"Who were you with yesterday?" Julie freezed.

"No one" Elijah raised her eyebrows.

"No one?"

"Mhm"

"Really?"

"Really."

"Okay," he said and quieted down. Julia relaxed and they drove in silence.

When they arrived at the skate park there was already everyone. Elijah kissed Chloe before starting to skate with Dean. Dean gave Julie glances and smirks. Julie smiled back at him and tried to look annoyed but failed. They hung out for a while and had a great time.

"I'm gonna go to the store," Julie said and got up. The store was almost next to the skate park. Julie took Elijah's car keys and just as she was about to leave Dean said:

"I have to go to the store too. Wait up blondie" Dean ran to Julie and she smiled at him. Elijah and Chloe exchanged knowing looks. Julie hopped on the driver's seat and Dean pouted.
"I want to drive"

"Well too bad I'm driving" Julie said and smiled sweetly. Dean hopped on and they started to drive.

"Look, I'm sorry for last night," Dean said.

"It's okay. Really. I'm sorry too," Julie said and smiled.

"When can we tell the others?" He asked.

"I don't know." Dean nodded and they drove to the store holding hands.

When they returned to the skate park Dean whispered to Julie:

"Can I please kiss you in front of them? I beg you"

"Hmm.. No," Julie said.

"What if I do it anyway?"

"I will strangle you with bare hands."

"I don't believe you"

"Really?"

"Really." They stared at each other. They were a good distance apart from the others. Julie thought about it. It would be funny to see Elijah's face but still. When they were closer at the other she heard him say:

"Fuck it let's see if you can strangle me" Julie couldn't even think anything before Dean grabbed her by her waist and put his lips against hers. Julie didn't pull out. She just went with it. She put her arms around his neck and they forgot where they even were. Dean pulled out with a mischievous glimmer in his eyes. Julie turned to her friends. They stared at them and Chloe break the silence by yelling:

"Ha! I won Elijah! I told you they would tell us within the next week!" Elijah didn't look mad, he looked disappointed because he lost the bet.
"Fuck. I thought you would tell us in like two weeks. You really couldn't wait?" Dean and Julie looked at each other confused and started to laugh.

"But how did you kn-" Dean started and Elijah said:

"We knew when Julie didn't come home. Chloe was with me and Ellie out of town. You suddenly weren't available and neither was Julie. Oh and we heard you at the beach."

Julie blushed and laughed. A rock was moved away from her heart. It felt like she could breathe again. Julie glanced at the girls and noticed that Ellie tried to look happy, but... Did she seem disappointed? Uncomfortable? Julie shrugged it off and decided to ask Dean about it later. Now she sat down next to Chloe. Dean gave her a kiss before going to skate.
