"Well, well, Alexus, good day to you," Blackwood had said.

"Wait, dummy, either way, I know you're going with or without me. But you need to take a break, hun," Alexus had said.

"My dear, why would I ever stop the adventure? It keeps me young, haha, I'm as spry as ever, my dearie," he said.

"You always have been and always will be, you goofball, but Christ, you've been doing this for god knows how long and what will you even achieve in the end, hun," Alexus had been going on and on, but Blackwood had tuned her out.

"I just thi—" she interrupted him.

"Alexus, that's enough. When did you lose your spark? You need this, my friend, you need this, I need this," Blackwood seemed teary.

"You're getting old, and I want a little more time with my friend," he had said.

"Theo, I'm only 28, and you're older than me," Alexus said.

"Noted," Blackwood said.

"I won't do this again, but to hell with it, I'll go, you've convinced me," Alexus said.
