I met JJ Lucia-Wright many moons ago – in the small fairytale town of Dokum in the Netherlands – during a clown mission. We had been invited by a local Dutch Clown Doctor Association to give workshops to care clowns and other professions, such as doctors, nurses and therapists, who were new to the world of clowning. We spent many days teaching and visiting local hospitals and old folks' homes to spread joy and happiness with the new clowns. We shared a lot of ideas, skills, and a few giant cakes from the local bakery. During this time, I was in absolute awe of JJ's incredible talent and his ability to connect with people. I have held him in the highest regard ever since. His commitment to caring for others and giving those in need new opportunities they may not have otherwise experienced is truly inspiring. He uses his unique approach to magic in a way some may not have thought possible.
