Delilah
"Everything looks perfect with baby. Are you excited to learn about the gender in a couple weeks?" Doctor Lewis asked as she continued to take pictures using the ultra sound
By this point I'd gotten over the fear that I was doing this alone. I wanted to tell Luca, god had I tried but he cut of all contact with me. His old address was no longer his, my number was blocked. I had no way to contact him what so ever
But yet I still wish he was here with me"I am, when will I be able to know?" I asked hoping that it would be soon. It was only my baby and I left in this world. Up until 2 months ago I had my brother and my Dad but my brother was in heavy with things he didn't understand and that left to their car reck.
Nobody believes me when I say it was foul play
I'm just a silly little girl who doesn't know what she is talking about, a silly little girl who is head first in a ice cold bath with no air left to breathe"Providing baby cooperates, I would say at your next appointment. But your little one is a wriggler so they may not play ball" She said with a chuckle. She didn't speak a word of a lie, the baby was always laid on my bladder of with their foot caught in my rib cage
"I know it is none of my business Delilah, but have you thought anymore about talking to the father? It would be beneficial for you to have some sort of support going through this. Without your Dad and brother here now I'm worried about you more then anything" She explained making me sigh
"I've thought about it, but it isn't any option unfortunately" I answered avoiding all eye contact with her knowing this wasn't a conversation I wanted to have--
I would love to be tucked up in bed more then anything right now but instead I'm surrounded by people asking one of three questions
How do you know Maya?Aww how far along are you?
Where is the father?Truth be told, I'm out of my depths here. I don't know why Maya wanted me here yet here I am
A slip dress clinging to my bump making it more obvious, it was the only dress I owned that was suitable for this occasion and that fit."Oh Delilah honey! Come here!" I heard Maya yell across the room, I turned to face her excusing myself from the current company only to be met face first with the one person I didn't plan for
I looked towards Maya to see Luca stood there with a surprised look on his face, one I'm not doubt matching right now
His tux fitting him perfect while he stood by his mothers side surrounded by his father and his brothers
Brothers I didn't even know existed
He knew about Adrian, hell he'd met him more times then I could count.. But clearly I wasn't worth introducing to his family"This is my right hand lady, Delilah. She's just finished her masters in business and has done wonders for our rec centre. She is a natural with the kids" Maya honoured making me shake my head
"Dee this is my brother Giorgio, his wife Ella and their sons Luca, Tobias, Marco and Nico" She continued
"It's lovely to meet you all and you've got a good bunch of kids there. I didn't do that much" I explained not wanting the wanted attention"Maya speaks highly of you and believe it or not, that is a rare occurrence sweetheart" Giorgio
"Being good with with kids will fit perfectly with your little one on the way" Ella suggested making me offer her a smile
"She's going to be a brilliant mother" Maya cheered wrapping a supportive arm around my shoulder"Have you and the father been together long?" Giorgio asked, making Maya offer me a small smile
"We don't talk about that waste of time. He left poor Delilah 4 months ago and blocked her from any sort of contact and support during this time" She said making me cringe looking over to Luca who most definetly knew that this was his child now
If she hadn't said anything, I could have played it off but now there is no chance at all.."Excuse me" I said trying to get out of there faster then you could anticipate
Without a second thought, I lifted my dress slightly to aid on my get away before heading straight for the double doors leading to outside
I couldn't do this, facing him was not on the playing cards tonight let alone his own auntie talking bad about him right to his face"Waste of time?" A voice said making me instantly close my eyes to turn to see Luca stood there closing the doors behind him in the hope nobody would disturb us I guess
"I never said that to her, I swear. You aren't that and I-" I rambled before he gave me that lookThe same look he always gave me, the one that meant Calm down Delilah.. it's okay
"I had no idea she was your Auntie before I took the job Luca. I'm not expecting anything from you but also know that I wasn't keeping it from you. I just had no way to contact you" I mumbled
"Is it mine then?" He asked earning a glare from me
"Who else would it be?" I questioned earning a shrug
"It's been four months since we broke up Delilah, it could be anyone's for all I know" He said making my mouth gawk open before shaking my head"You know what Luca?" I asked my eyes darkening at him, this was not the Luca I knew or loved
"I've been fine without you, I've been doing this completely alone and I'm more then prepared to continue that" I growled moving past him before I heard him cough to himself"Running back to your Dad and brother doesn't count as doing it alone Delilah" He warned me making me freeze before turning back to him
"They are dead Luca, so yes. I'm doing it alone" I warned him before storming out not even thinking about looking back this time
