By the time we arrived at LAX Jaxon had fallen asleep, so I carried him throughout the busy airport, our luggage being carried by the driver. We finally made it to our 11 hour flight.
We took our seats and all I could do was think about my parents. Our safety? Were we in danger? There were so many things that could be happening.
I know I should be happy, which I am, but I am so confused that I don't know what to think. I've never seen my mom like that ever. I couldn't wait for them to give me an explanation of why we had to go live with our aunt, which we barely knew.
I tried to forget about it by putting my music on full blast. This was going to be a long flight, so I might as well get some shut-eye. I slowly fall asleep to lyrics in my head, followed by the questions that may be answered later.
During the flight I would wake up to eat and talk to Jaxon a few times, then fall back asleep. We have never really left California, only to visit out grandmother in Seattle. Finally for the fourth time, I fell asleep again.
I am woken up by someone shaking me.
"Miss Melody, you have to wake up now, we are in London."
The driver said, carrying Jaxon in his left arm.I get up and take Jaxon so he can grab our luggage.
"What is your name? I never got to ask." I asked the driver.
"Phillip." He simply answered.
We made our way out of the plane to the London Airport. Now we were trying to find our Aunt.
"Do you know what Aunt Marilyn looks like?" Jaxon asked me, as I set him down on the ground.
"I'm not sure." I said, shrugging.
Suddenly a woman with brown hair tied in a neat bun, a black blazer with a matching skirt, and red bottom nude pumps comes up to us with a sign that says 'Kylie & Jaxon'. Guess this must be her.
"Hello, children." She said with a very thick British accent.
"I am your mother's sister, Marilyn. It is very nice to meet you." She said, sticking out her hand for me to shake.I shake her hand and smile and Jaxon does the same.
"How come we have never met you?" I asked out of curiosity, as we are walking to her car.
"Well, your mother has never mentioned me probably because she wanted me to have nothing to do with you two. But I guess now she thought it was time." She said very sternly.
When we made it outside to her car I was shocked to see a white Bentley. She must be rich, for she acts very posh.
We got to know each other while she drove us to her home. She is 36 years old, working in fashion design.
We finally arrive to her house, or should I say, MANSION. Jaxon and I both gasp, causing Aunt Marilyn to laugh.
"I decorated your rooms especially for you two." She said opening the door.
The inside was beautiful and open, surrounded by big glass windows and paintings on the walls.
"Kylie your room is on the second floor, right next to your brother's, you two can unpack while I prepare dinner." She said.
Me and Jaxx looked at each other, then raced each other up the stairs to our new rooms.
When I found my room, I automatically fell in love with it.
The walls were a light beige color, and the furniture and bed was white. There was a desk with a Mac computer and a laptop, followed by a Polaroid mini and plant decorations. The bathroom was gorgeous, everything was glass, and it had beautiful granite counter tops. It was as if a bedroom from my Tumblr dashboard had come to life!
After an hour of unpacking, Jaxon showed me his room and I had to say it was an absolute dream come true, well, for a 5 year old.
There were posters of superheroes on the walls, and many toys were laid out around the room. His bed was in the shape of a race car, something he had always wanted but had never gotten.
"I love Auntie Marilyn!" He said, running around the room in excitement. I giggled at his words and decided to go back in my room to freshen up. I took a shower and put on my long sleeve black crop top from Brandy Melville, and my grey pajama shorts from H&M, followed by my long white socks.
"Kids, dinner!" Marilyn called.
I rushed down the stairs, behind a hungry looking Jaxon to the dining room. We sat at the table, and smiled when we saw we were being served pizza.
"So, Kylie, you go to school?"
"Erm, yes I go to a performing arts school. I'm going to be senior." I said, wiping my mouth.
She nods in interest.
"There is a high school here in London you may be interested in, it's one of the best schools in England and I highly recommend it." She said.
That's when the thought popped into my head. We would be staying here for that long?
"Wait, I wasn't given any information on schools here, I don't even know the reason we are here... How long will we be staying here??" I asked.
The question definitely threw her off guard, but she cleared her voice as if she would answer.
"Your mother and father would much rather you hear it from them. The situation they are in is important, and they didn't want you to be involved. Just know that nothing is your fault. You and Jaxon will just have to adjust to the changes until your mother and father are settled after a year..."
"A year?! We aren't going to see our parents for a year?!" I ask in shock.
"No no, they will fly out here once in a while, I would never let you be separated from your parents for that long! Everything is alright dear." She said in a calming voice.
Not only am I outraged, but I am confused. No one is telling me anything or giving me any information on what is happening to my parents. I still need to know!
When I finish my food I take Jaxon to bed to tuck him in and I help Marilyn with the dishes, then I head off to bed in my new room. Jet lag definitely can be a pain after all.
I brush my teeth and wash my face before I finally bury myself into my warm covers. Before I close my eyes once more, my phone buzzes. It is a text from my mum.
'I love you both dearly. I will see you soon. Xoxo mum.'
I reply to her message with a 'we love you too' and I shut my phone off.
I try my best to smile, because I finally got what I wanted. From California to London, I know for sure, that things are going to be different....
