Distracts

I was unable to fall asleep at all that night. His lips on mine felt like an indelible imprint, haunting my every thought. His eyes, his face, they kept flashing in my mind, refusing to fade into the darkness. I tried to distract myself, to escape the relentless pull towards him, but my thoughts kept gravitating back, as if drawn by an invisible force.

I was restless and uneasy during the quiet hours of the night because every memory of him caused a turbulent sea of emotions to surge inside of me.

It was the day we were set to leave. After freshening up and packing a few things, Namjoon emerged from the tent.

"Good morning," he said in his sleepy voice, rubbing his eyes to clear them.

"Good morning, hyung," I replied, offering him a smile.

I made coffee for both of us and we sat by the river, enjoying the tranquility of our surroundings.

"It feels so nice here, away from the loud city," Namjoon remarked, and I nodded in agreement.

"I don't want to go back," he groaned, which made me chuckle.

"You can enjoy it for now, hyung. The peace and quiet in our lives are just fleeting moments, not forever," I said, taking a sip of my coffee.

"Wow, that's deep," Namjoon chuckled, and we both laughed.

As we heard the tent flap open, I held my breath. "Ah," he groaned. He must be suffering from a headache.

"Good morning, hyung," Taehyung greeted us as he joined us by the river. I did my best to look at him, hiding theard conflicted emotions swirling inside me.

"How are your ankles?" Namjoon inquired, his concern evident in his voice.

Taehyung nodded . "Yeah, I'm feeling a bit better now, thanks."

Feeling the weight of unspoken words hanging between us, I refused to let my emotions get in the way and kept my eyes glued to my coffee.

Namjoon glanced between us. "Well, we should start packing up soon. It's time to head back," he said

I nodded, grateful for the distraction. "Yes, let us pack everything," I answered, eager to put the rest of my worries aside and concentrate on the work at hand.

I stole a glance at Taehyung and found him already looking back at me, his gaze piercing yet unreadable. Offering him a small smile, I turned my attention back to packing up our belongings.

The rustling of our movements must have woken up the others, who began to stir from their slumber one by one. The campsite gradually came alive as the rest of our group awoke to the sound of our preparations.

As we packed the last of our belongings into the car and prepared to leave, I could not help but feel a twinge of sadness at the prospect of leaving this peaceful oasis behind.

Before getting into the car, I looked at Taehyung, and it was clear from his expression that he did not remember anything.

Which is good because there will be no awkward moments between us.

"I kissed him," I blurted out the moment Jimin and I arrived at his house. I didn't even bother going home; I needed to tell Jimin immediately.

"Wow, the dream must have been beautiful," Jimin muttered, not even looking up at me, which made me groan in frustration.

"I seriously kissed him!" I exclaimed, running my hands through my hair in agitation. I did my best this morning to keep it together, to not show anything on my face that screamed I remember. But now, the reality is hitting me hard. How am I supposed to face him now? I sighed deeply, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on me.

"What the--" Jimin exclaimed, his eyes wide with shock.

"When? How? Where? And why are you telling me this now?" he asked, sitting down beside me.

"I don't remember clearly," I admitted, my voice shaky. "Everything's a blur after drinking that weird concoction."

"You've got to be kidding me, Tae. You got drunk and kissed him? How did that even happen?" Jimin asked, his tone a mix of disbelief and concern.

"I told you, it's all a blur," I said, frustration creeping into my voice. "I just remember kissing him, and then... I don't know what happened next."

"I don't know how I'm going to face him now," I added, my voice barely above a whisper, the weight of the situation sinking in.

Jimin grabbed my shoulders, forcing me to look him in the eye. "Tae, you can't just hide from this," he said, his voice intense and unwavering.

"This is a moment that could change everything. You need to face him, talk to him. Maybe he remembers, maybe he doesn't, but you have to find out. Ignoring this will only make it worse. You owe it to both of you to confront this head-on. Don't let fear dictate your actions. This is your chance to make things right or to understand what really happened."

"I guess you're right," I muttered, the weight of his words sinking in.

"I'll figure out the right time to talk to him," I conceded, realizing that rushing into a conversation could make matters worse.
