I empathized with the anguish in his eyes, the silent struggle evident as he fought to hold onto me. Seeing him weighed down by the burdens caused by our relationship pained me deeply.

Namjoon's advice echoed in my mind, a reminder of the importance of prioritizing our individual paths. I didn't want to lose him, but I also couldn't ignore the pressing demands of my own journey.

After that day, I made a conscious effort to prioritize him, to give him the attention and care he deserved. I took Namjoon's advice to heart, determined not to let our relationship be a source of struggle for him any longer. Even if it meant stepping out of my comfort zone, I was willing to do whatever it took to ensure his happiness.

As months turned into a year, I continued to shower him with affection, taking him on dates and indulging him in the little things he enjoyed, even if they made me cringe at times. And now, on the eve of our first anniversary, as I waited for him at our favorite restaurant, my mind buzzed with excitement and nervous energy.

His delayed arrival, likely due to the demands of a project I had given to them, only added to the suspense of the evening.

I had ordered a cake for the occasion was a symbol of our first anniversary, to him—a ring, patiently waiting to be discovered amidst the sweetness of our celebration.

Finally, he arrived, and my breath caught in my throat at the sight of him. Dressed in a crisp white shirt paired with faded blue jeans, he looked effortlessly handsome. Despite the passing year, his presence still had the power to make my heart skip a beat.

"Canvas," I exclaimed, rising from my seat to plant a sweet kiss on his lips. "You look so handsome."

"Not as much as you," he replied with a grin, pull chair for him and helping me back into my seat.

I smiled, feeling a warm flutter in my chest at his compliment. "I'll have to disagree with you on that," I teased.

He chuckled softly, the sound like music to my ears, as we settled in for our dinner.

As we perused the menu, I couldn't help but ask, "How's the project going?"

"It's tough," he admitted, a hint of frustration in his voice. "I'm really struggling with it."

"Aw, Canvas, I'm here for you," I reassured him, reaching out to squeeze his hand.

He shook his head with a laugh. "No, you'll just distract me even more," he teased.

I couldn't help but laugh too. "Fair point. But I promise, no distractions tonight."

A blush crept up his cheeks at my words, and I felt a rush of affection for him.

As the slow melody filled the air, I extended my hand to him, a silent invitation for a dance, and with a warm smile, he accepted, just as he had on that unforgettable day.

As we swayed together on the dance floor, the world seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of us in our own intimate bubble. My hand rested gently on his small waist, guiding him effortlessly as we moved in perfect harmony. With each step, I felt a surge of affection for him, grateful for this moment of closeness amidst the chaos of life.

As the song reached its crescendo, I pulled him closer, his eyes locked with mine, filled with an unspoken tenderness. And then, with a soft sigh, our lips met in a gentle kiss, igniting a spark that seemed to transcend time and space. Everything seemed to be in order in that brief moment, as though the cosmos had worked in concert to reunite us.

As I discreetly signaled for the cake, anticipation tingled through me. When the waiter brought it over and set it down, his eyes flickered between the cake and me, a hint of surprise dancing in his gaze.

"You planned this?" he said, his voice tinged with wonder. I nodded.

"Let's cut the cake," I urged eagerly, my heart racing with excitement. I couldn't wait to see the look on his face when he found the ring.

We sliced into the cake, exchanging playful glances as we fed each other. But as the moments passed and the ring failed to reveal itself, a wave of disappointment washed over me, causing me to nervously bite my lip.

However, when Taehyung took another bite and his expression turned from confusion to shock, my heart leaped in my chest.

"Ahh what the fuck," he said, his eyes widening in shock as he noticed the ring tucked among the crumbs on his plate.

"Happy anniversary, my canvas," I whispered, my voice catching with emotion as tears threatened to spill over.

A smile broke across his face, tears glistening in his eyes as he pulled me into a tight embrace.

"I love you, Kookie," he murmured against my ear.

"I love you more, my canvas," I replied, my heart overflowing with love for the man who had become my everything.
