At first, Chan had not even realized that his foster license was still open until he got the call that there was a child that just had to be placed with Chan for one reason only. Chan had known that Jeongin had a brother but he was never able to find the kid before. Until now. Apparently, foster service found the brother for him. And his name was Jisung.
"Your tall" Jisung looked at Hyunjin.
"I know" Hyunjin answered, barely sparing a second glance at the new kid. He wasn't sure why there was another kid in the house but with Chan's track record, it was really no big surprise. It just happened.
"Do you like being tall?" Jisung questioned. Hyunjin shrugged. He had never really thought about that before.
"I guess so" He answered, a little confused. Jisung asked a lot of questions that Hyunjin was not prepared for. He didn't really like it that much.
"Do you not know?" Jisung asked, confused. His head tilted to the side a little and Hyunjin shrugged again, tapping on his tablet while he tried to complete another level of a math game Chan had gotten for him.
"I just never really thought about it before" Hyunjin answered honestly. Jisung's nose curled up but he didn't say anything. If he was tall, he was sure that was all he'd think about so he couldn't understand why Hyunjin didn't do the same. Instead, Jisung looked down at Hyunjin's game.
"The answer is six, not five" He corrected. Hyunjin gritted his teeth and picked six anyways. It was wrong. Jisung gave him a smug look which Hyunjin tried his best to ignore. He was beginning to dislike this new kid.
"It's not fifteen! It's twelve" Jisung shrieked right in Hyunjin's hair. The older slammed his tablet down, turning his head slowly to face Jisung. He was going to say something but decided it wasn't worth his time and just got up to go somewhere else.
"Wait, Hyunjin!" Jisung tried to stop him. Hyunjin did stop and turned back, crossing his arms.
"I don't know why your even here. Your not supposed to be" Hyunjin scoffed. Jisung froze; what was that supposed to mean?
"I'm here because Channie-hyung wanted me" Jisung answered, desperately wanting to believe that. Hyunjin laughed.
"No, your here because Hyung forgot to close his license and because Innie's your brother. You were never wanted. Your just the screwup that we ended up taking in, a stray kid" Hyunjin was aware that was a deep cut, especially for a foster kid. Being one himself, if anyone had said that to him, Hyunjin would have fallen into a million tiny pieces from sadness. Jisung's eyes filled up with tears as he watched his foster brother walk away.
Was Hyunjin right? Was the only reason for Jisung being in this new family because he had a brother in the family? Had he really been unwanted? With his mind made up, Jisung went to his and Felix's room and threw everything he had into his new suitcase, which Chan had bought for him the day after Jisung moved in. There was just one thing that he needed to do before he could leave.
"Hey, Innie" Jisung slipped into the youngest's room, sitting down on the floor in front of Jeongin.
"Hi hyungie!" Jeongin didn't look up from his toys.
"Do you like it here, Jeongin?" Jisung wondered.
"Yeah! Hyungs are all so nice and they play with me!" Jeongin finally looked up, blinking a few times. "Will you play with me?"
"Not this time, Innie. Hyung's going somewhere for a little while so I need you to be good for Chan-hyungie and listen to him" Jisung ruffled his brother's hair. Jeongin blinked, confused. Jisung had just arrived; he couldn't be leaving this soon. Could he?
