The Cloudlands

I felt dizzy, yet my body feels light and airy, besides the slight tingle in my fingers and toes. An oddly safe and comfortable feeling surrounds me. I can see shades of blue and white through blurred eyes. Everythings so bright. The ground looks white and sort of lumpy, and seemingly stretches for miles. a slight breeze of cool, clean air swirling by. An odd feeling washes over me, like i'm forgetting something...

I notice something moving within the blur of white and blue. A large silhouette of a person. As the person approaches it seems to be a dark skinned woman dressed in white, with golden accents. I notice a golden hue around her abnormally tall figure as she approaches me. She outstretched her hand with a warm and welcoming smile. I grab hold of her soft hand without hesitation. Her hand was so much larger than mine, i had to wrap my hand around her finger. We seemed to begin moving forward, but neither of us were taking any steps. Her voice suddenly broke the silence.

"How do you feel?" her voice sounded like a mixture of a sweet whisper and an echo.

"Uhh... i feel dizzy" i answered.

"Thats normal baby." she spoke like a welcoming mother.

"I feel like im forgetting something, i-i cant remem-"

"Its okay, you dont need to worry. It will come back to you in time" she said comfortingly. "Hush now, i have things to show you"

We calmly drifted through the cool air, my mind mostly blank. I look down and notice im wearing a pair of white silk pajamas. I notice my blurriness has cleared up enough to make out more details of the giantess woman guiding me. Her hair has golden charms braided into an elegant bun, her white gown flows weightlessly behind her. She looks over her shoulder, noticing me admiring her beauty and grace. She gives a smile and looks back to the path ahead, seemingly going nowhere.

I still feel a bit dizzy and begin to feel my legs weaken. She feels me tug on her finger, trying to keep my balance. She turns to me and lifts me under my arms. She places me on her chest, head over her shoulder. I can feel her giant heart beat. I completely relax into her arms, feeling so safe and calm i could simply fall asleep.

I stare at the ground behind us and see the ground, made of a cool fog, swirling around us as we pass through. The fog begins to have the tiny tips of blades of grass peeking through. Quickly the grass turns to a solid patch as the fog surrounding us disappears into the distance. A small patch of cloud-like fog still surrounds the womans feet, slowly guiding us above the grass.
I turn my head facing forward.

I see beautiful grass and flower fields, surrounded by tall, lush trees while they dance in the breeze. We move towards what seems to be a populated place. Pretty little cottages, separated by rainbow picket fences. Small beds full of flowers and vegetables in between. Everything is so perfect. And comforting. We soon pass by a playground full of people my size. Despite them looking my age or older, all of them are dressed in cute outfits, playing wildly like children. There were also giant people. Some of them sitting and chatting, some pushing people my size on swings.

We passed by the playground, and started approaching what looks like a small Hospital building. The woman carries me through the Giant Hospital doorway where a different woman greets us. It is a pale brown haired woman dressed in a doctor's uniform. The antiseptic and chemical smell in the hospital air fills my nose.

"Thanks Irmira, I'll take it from here." the doctor smiles.

Irmira nods graciously and lifts me under my arms from her chest, and hands me to the doctor. Placing me on her hip she whisks me away to a room and sits me on an exam table. The woman was smaller than Irmira but still nearly twice my size.

"Still feeling a bit fuzzy there huh?"

I nod my head. This is all so confusing, but at the same time feels just right. I rub my eyes.

"Alright thats okay, lets just do a few tests to make sure your settling normally" The doctor rolls a stool over to the table before sitting down. "Lets start with your name, can you tell me your name?" she asks.

"Um, h-harper."

"Okay, good. Now harper, can you tell me how old you are?"

I search my almost blank mind looking for an answer, before an urge to say 20 hits me. "20 i think"

"Very good! Do you know how you got here?"

My empty mind somehow feels scrambled, i rub my eyes.

"Its alright sweetheart, would you like to know where you are?"

I nod my head. "Yes please"

"You are in the cloudlands. People come here after they pass on. They come to one of the cloudlands that represents their deepest desires while they were... well, we can talk about that later."

I try to wrap my head around it, but its all still strange. I lay quietly as the doctor performs various tests. She listens to my heart, checks my temperature, shines a light in my eyes, poking around my body.

"Looks like everything is normal, you are settling nicely. Now that everything has been checked out, you will now be assigned your new daddy."

"Daddy?" i ask.

"Yep! You will meet him very shortly. Hes excited to meet you."
