Scribbling the last piece of artwork-a meticulous drawing of her favorite movie character, the one and only Edward Cullen-Keith smiled, diving deeper into her fantasies. Tomorrow marked the end of her school days, and as the top student in her class, she was bursting with excitement at the prospect of starting college.
To everyone around her, Keith was the epitome of determination and ambition. She had always dreamed of reaching the far ends of the universe to make her hardworking parents proud. Her two younger sisters idolized her, seeing her as a beacon of inspiration and guidance. She was the "it" girl, always focused, seemingly untouched by the distractions of teenage love and drama. Yet, beneath her composed exterior, Keith harbored a secret wish that she had never shared with anyone: she longed for a loving husband. For her, Edward Cullen was the ideal partner. While some scoffed at the Twilight series, labeling it as cringeworthy, Keith found it enchanting. Her sharp intellect and unique tastes in movies, music, and men set her apart from her peers. She spent her free time listening to Adam Lambert, daydreaming about meeting someone like Edward Cullen in college, and imagining the perfect future together.
Returning to reality, Keith put the finishing touches on her artwork and stepped back to admire it before turning to the full-length mirror in her loft-turned-bedroom. She sighed as she scrutinized her reflection. Her nose was cute, her eyebrows perfectly shaped, but her chubby cheeks and the fact that she was 10 kilograms over her BMI made her feel far from the ideal beauty standard. The hurtful nickname "fatso" still echoed in her mind from her schoolmates' taunts, but she brushed it off, knowing deep down that their opinions were meaningless. They were, after all, just losers in her eyes. She traced her fingers over each perceived imperfection in the mirror, contemplating change, but accepting that it would have to wait-tomorrow always seemed just out of reach.
"Keith, come down for dinner!" her mom called from the kitchen. With a final look in the mirror, Keith thought to herself, "I'm excited for the last day of school tomorrow! I'm excited to get to college!" She bounded down the stairs, her heart filled with anticipation for the adventures that awaited her.
