On the dawn of the most anticipated occasion, Keith rose from her slumber with a full heart. It was her first day at the esteemed college, a milestone she had long awaited with bated breath. As the first rays of sunlight filtered through her room's window, she offered a prayer of gratitude to the divine. Then she closed her eyes to envision the future she fervently desired.

Descending the staircase to have breakfast, she was met with the jubilant faces of her parents and sisters, who bestowed upon her hearty well-wishes and effusive goodbyes. Their pride was ponderable, and it warmed her heart as she mounted her scooter, a trusty steed for the day's adventure.

Keith had triumphed in her school examinations with unparalleled distinction, earning her a coveted place at the most illustrious college in the city. As she navigated the cobbled streets, her mind swirled with a maelstrom of excitement and nervousness. Upon arriving at the grand building, she paused to steady her nerves, collected her identification card, and secured her scooter in the designated area.

The college grounds spread before her in all their splendor, a testament to architectural prowess. In the center, a verdant circular garden offered a haven for scholarly discourse and camaraderie, encircled by three imposing complexes whose grandeur spoke of centuries of academic excellence.

Keith strode purposefully towards the office to get her timetable, yet she could not help but cast furtive glances at her fellow students. The young ladies, with their elegant attire and graceful demeanors, exuded an air of sophistication that made Keith acutely aware of her own perceived shortcomings. Their lithe figures and effortless poise stirred a sense of inadequacy within her. She averted her gaze, putting up a facade of confidence to conceal her inner turmoil.

Timetable in hand, she went up the staircase to the third floor, where her first class was to commence. Peering into the classroom, she gathered her courage and softly enquired, "May I come in, ma'am?" Her voice carried the decorum befitting a young lady of her stature. The heads of her classmates turned in unison, their curious eyes upon her, sending a shiver down her spine. Yet, she maintained her composure.

"Yes, do come in," the instructor, Miss Philip, responded with a welcoming smile. Keith found a seat beside a young woman of striking features-a wheatish complexion, finely arched eyebrows, a delicate nose, and a slender frame. Despite a pang of self-consciousness, Keith mustered a warm smile.

"Hi, I am Rose," the girl introduced herself with a friendly demeanor.

"Hi, I am Keith," she replied, feeling a glimmer of relief at the prospect of new friendship.

As the lesson commenced, Miss Philip began with the first biology lesson. She asked the class "Who among you can define biology?" she posed to the class. Keith, ever the diligent scholar, raised her hand with confidence.

"Yes, miss Krushi, please answer," Miss Philip encouraged.

"Biology is derived from the Greek words 'bios' meaning life, and 'logia' meaning study. Thus, it is the study of life," Keith articulated with poise.

"Impressive," Miss Philip remarked, her approval evident. The class turned to regard Keith with a mixture of admiration and envy. Keith settled back into her seat, a sense of pride welling within her. She exchanged a look of mutual respect with Rose before resuming her focus on the lecture.

The morning hours flitted by, and soon it was time for lunch. Keith and Rose made their way to the cafeteria, with their tiffins. As they settled at a table, Rose chipped, "So, Keith, do tell me about yourself!"

Keith chuckled, "I am but an ordinary, chubby lass." The two girls shared a conspiratorial glance before erupting into laughter, a bond of companionship swiftly forming.

As they ate, exchanging stories and jesting, Keith's gaze was drawn to the entrance. A tall boy with scholarly spectacles made his entrance. His paleness, coupled with his striking eyes reminiscent of Edward Cullen and a nose akin to Adam Lambert's, rendered him both nerdy and irresistibly attractive. Keith's heart skipped a beat. She quickly averted her gaze, feigning indifference as she concentrated on her meal.

Rose, ever perceptive, noticed the shift in Keith's demeanor but did not comment. Instead, she continued their conversation, allowing Keith to mask her interest in the newcomer.

With the lunch concluded, the girls proceeded to the chemistry laboratory. Keith endeavored to focus on the experiment before her, yet her thoughts persistently strayed to the boy she had glimpsed. Her mind wandered to the responsibilities she bore-her aspiration to excel in her studies, her desire to make her parents proud, and the expectations she had placed upon herself. She mused on how love, as enticing as it seemed, would complicate her carefully laid plans. She had to navigate the labyrinth of academic life, and the prospect of romance felt like a distraction.

"This will prove to be a challenge..." she murmured to herself, her emotions a tangled web of curiosity and restraint.

In the chemistry lab, Keith and Rose were paired for their first practical task. As they prepared their apparatus, Keith endeavored to clear her mind of distractions and concentrate on the task at hand. Rose noticed Keith's determination and chose to focus on their shared goal.

As the day wore on, Keith found herself gradually acclimating to her new surroundings. She engaged in scholarly discussions, formed a few more acquaintances, and began to regain her self-assurance. Despite the initial unease, her confidence was slowly but surely being restored.

When the day's lessons drew to a close, Keith and Rose walked to the parking lot together. "So, how did you find your first day?" Rose asked.

"It was overwhelming at the outset, but I believe I shall come to enjoy it here," Keith replied earnestly.

"Indeed. And remember, I am here should you ever require companionship or counsel," Rose offered.

"Thank you, Rose. Your friendship means a great deal to me," Keith responded, feeling a sense of ease and gratitude for this new found friendship.

They parted ways, and Keith rode home, her mind awash with reflections on the day's events. She recounted the excitement of her classes, the burgeoning friendship with Rose, and, of course, the intriguing young man she had noticed. Her heart fluttered at the thought of seeing him again, yet she reminded herself of her priorities.

Upon arriving home, Keith was met with a barrage of questions from her family. She recounted the highlights of her day, carefully omitting the part about the boy, and felt a sense of accomplishment at how she had navigated her first day of college.

That evening, as she lay on bed, Keith allowed herself to dream a little. She envisioned meeting someone like Edward Cullen, forging a deep and meaningful connection, and building a future together. But she also knew that, for the present, she must focus on her studies and make the most of this new chapter in her life.

With a contented sigh, she drifted off to sleep, her mind filled with hopeful musings and dreams for the future. The journey ahead promised to be filled with challenges and triumphs, but Keith felt ready to face them, one day at a time.
