When Steve woke up, Tony was standing over him, an agitated look on his face. He was in the med bay now, but he couldn't remember how he'd gotten here. Last thing he remembered, he was working out in the gym and Ana came in and... "Ana," he sat up quickly. Rhodey, Bucky and Sam were sitting to the side and Bruce was looking over a computer. "Where is she?"
"Easy there, Capsicle," Tony said, putting his hand up. "Your girlfriend split. After disabling FRIDAY, knocking out half the team and stealing the microchip."
"She also handcuffed me in the living room," Bucky said.
"What? That doesn't make any sense, why would she?" he asked.
The door opened and Yelena and Natasha walked in, both looking beaten up. Natasha was sporting a bruise on her face. "It wasn't her," Yelena said.
"I watched the footage," Tony rolled his eyes. "It was definitely her."
"No, I mean, it was her, but it wasn't," Yelena said. "She changed somehow, when we were going to see the green man in the lab."
"You know my name is Bruce, right?" the doctor said, rolling his eyes.
"Fine, whatever, Bruce. Is that the most important thing right now?" Yelena said.
"Something triggered her," Bucky said, his eyes meeting Steve's. "You've seen it before. In me. When she fought me, it was like we were back in her training room. She called me comrade."
"Is that how she kicked your ass?" Sam asked him.
"I don't recall you getting the jump on her," Bucky glared at him.
"Yeah, I'm not surprised since you were passed out," Sam smirked.
"They must have done something to her," Natasha said, meeting Steve's eyes. He could see the worry and guilt in them, the same guilt he was sure was reflected in his. "Before we got her out, they must have...reprogramed her."
"So they tried putting in a fake and when that didn't work, they decided to go all sleeper cell on us?" Tony rolled his eyes.
"We need to find her," Steve said firmly. "Please tell me you have anything on her location."
"Well, as it so happens, after our last debacle and near miss of the microchip, I wisely thought to put a tracker on it," Tony said. "So I do have her location."
He heard Tony's hesitation. "Why am I sensing there's a but there?"
"What but? There's no but," Tony said. Steve sighed and looked at him pointedly. "Fine, the location of the tracker, I looked it up on a Stark Satellite, just to scope it out. And it looks like it's fully loaded against any kind of attack. And it's in the middle of Siberia so you know, not looking forward to the cold again. I mean, what? Does the Leviathan employee welcome package include thermal underwear?"
"They're Russian," Yelena smirked proudly.
"Whatever they have, we will handle it," Steve said. "We are going to get Ana."
"I'm all for getting Ana back, but we have to be smart about this," Tony said. "So I may have done a thing."
"That's never a sentence I want to hear from your mouth again," Rhodey groaned.
"I didn't say it was a bad thing," Tony defended.
"Why am I not feeling reassured?"
"What did you do, Tony?" Steve said, trying to keep his tone calm.
The door to the med bay opened, and Wanda walked in. Everyone breathed out a sigh of relief. Steve looked her over proudly. The grief was evident in her face, but she was still standing strong.
