My name is Cherise, and I reside in California. With my light brown eyes, long dark brown hair, and slightly tanned skin, I stand at five foot six with a slim figure. Although I tend to be a bit reserved around the opposite sex, I consider myself to be a down-to-earth individual. At the age of 18, I began documenting my thoughts in this diary, a decision I have no regrets about. As a single parent, I consciously chose this path for myself. Currently, my son is 10 years old while I am 29. He possesses his father's eyes, and although the day will come when he asks about his father, for now, it hasn't been a topic of discussion. Ah, his father, a man shrouded in mystery, by my parents solely due to my age of 18, even though I had already graduated from high school. My parents often wished for him to take responsibility for his child and marry me, but the Doctor was not one for marriage. I made the decision to embrace being a single parent. My parents were old-fashioned in more ways than one, they are conservatives. When I came out pregnant, my mom said that I was going to be like her, I don't know what she meant by that since I feel that my childhood was pleasant. Maybe she was unhappy with the choices she made long ago with her life. My stepdad is a good father, and I have a stepbrother who is 3 years younger than me, we get along well, so I don't have a clue about what she was trying to say, and honestly, I couldn't care less. Although I have a feeling it has something to do with the fact that she was only 18 when she had me, not much older than I was when I got pregnant. The only thing that sets us apart is that my dad was forced to marry her by my grandfather, and it eventually led to their divorce a year later. My first encounter with The Doctor happened during a completely ordinary moment in my life. It was just a regular day, nothing special. I decided to go for a relaxed drive along the PCH and ended up at Crystal Cove State Park Beach. As I stood at one of the lookout points, admiring the stunning scenery and watching people enjoy the summer day at the beach, I felt a profound sense of tranquility. Little did I know that this seemingly mundane day would be the beginning of a life-altering journey, thanks to The Doctor. I enjoy going to the tidepools in that area, where I can find different sea creatures such as snails, barnacles, mussels, anemones, urchins, sea stars, crustaceans, seaweed, and small fish. When I was a kid, my parents would take my brother and me to Crystal Cove, and I loved investigating the tidepools and finding the marine life that inhabits that small ecosystem. It's fascinating how these sea creatures flourish in such secluded habitats, like a miniature island in the expansive ocean. I broke the park rules by taking a sand dollar from the tidepools, but I don't think it really matters. I kept it hidden in my frayed denim shorts and never told anyone.
As I reflected on the situation, I took a deep breath of the ocean air and let out a sigh. "Things happen as they should," I reminded myself. The Doctor once told me that fate catches up to everyone and time is a thief, but I never quite understood what he meant. I gazed down from the cliff, watching seagulls, and my eyes wandered to the spot where I first met the Doctor. His name is simply the Doctor. When I asked, "Doctor who?" He just smiled, his brown eyes sparkling, and said, "Just the Doctor." While lost in memories, I glanced at my watch and realized it was already 6pm. Standing still, I gazed out at the vast ocean. Eventually, I settled down on the sandy beach, reflecting on the pivotal moment when my life took an everlasting turn, the moment I encountered my IMMORTAL.
It was June, two weeks after graduation, I decided to take my brand-new car for a drive along the PCH to Crystal Cove. My parents bought me a car after I graduated high school but throughout my senior year, I drove to school in my mom's silver 2010 Toyota Corolla. After parking my car, I strolled down to the beach, greeted by the sight of people relishing the afternoon at 5pm. The beach was adorned with a handful of surfers and various individuals taking leisurely walks.
