Bellatrix POV

As the days turned into weeks, the war outside raged on, but within the sanctuary of Malfoy Manor, a different kind of transformation was taking place. Rosalina had gradually slipped deeper into her little space. I could tell this regression was her way of coping with the trauma, and both Narcissa and I understood that helping her through this phase was crucial for her healing.

I found myself adopting a role I never imagined: that of a caregiver. My days, once filled with dark magic and malevolence, were now centered around ensuring Rosalina’s comfort and well-being.

One afternoon, I found her in the manor’s library, curled up in a large armchair with a picture book in her lap. She was engrossed in the colorful illustrations, her face illuminated by the soft glow of the setting sun. I approached her quietly, not wanting to startle her.

“Rosalina,” I said gently, sitting beside her. “What are you reading?”

She looked up, her wide eyes meeting mine with a mixture of surprise and joy. “It’s a story about a princess,” she replied, her voice tinged with the innocent excitement of a child. “She’s lost in the forest, but she finds her way home.”

I smiled, the warmth in her voice stirring something deep inside me. “That sounds lovely,” I said. “Would you like me to read it to you?”

Her face lit up, and she nodded eagerly, handing me the book. As I read to her, I noticed how her tension melted away, replaced by a sense of security and happiness. It was a contrast to the fear and uncertainty that had plagued her when we first met.

Narcissa joined us shortly after, carrying a tray with hot cocoa and biscuits. She set it down on a small table and sat on the other side of Rosalina, her presence soothing both of us. “I thought a little treat might be nice,” she said, her eyes twinkling with affection.

Rosalina’s eyes widened with delight. “Thank you, Aunt Cissy,” she said, her use of the affectionate term filling me with a sense of pride. Narcissa and I had become her caregivers, and she had started to see us as family.

Narcissa poured the hot cocoa into a sippy cup and handed it to Rosalina, who cradled it in her small hands, savoring the warmth. “Be careful, it’s hot,” she warned gently, watching as Rosalina took a cautious sip.

As we sat there, the three of us sharing a quiet moment, I felt a profound sense of peace. It was a feeling I hadn’t experienced in years, and it was all because of this small, delicate child who had found her way into our lives and hearts.

Rosalina POV

The days at Malfoy Manor were a mix of warmth and safety. Bellatrix and Narcissa, their care and affection a balm for my wounded soul. I felt like I could finally be myself, free from the fears and worries that had once consumed me.

One morning, I woke up to the soft sound of humming. I rubbed my eyes and saw Narcissa sitting by my bed, arranging a bouquet of fresh flowers in a vase. “Good morning, sweetheart,” she said, her voice soft and soothing. “Did you sleep well?”

I nodded, sitting up and hugging my stuffed animal 'toothless' a gift from Bellatrix. “Yes, Aunt Cissy,” I replied, my voice still groggy from sleep. “What are we going to do today?”

I shifted a little, my pull up making it uncomfortable to lay, ever since I have been here I have had accidents every single night and after a super embarrassing conversation with Bellatrix it was decided I would wear pull ups to bed until needed otherwise.

Narcissa smiled, her eyes filled with warmth. “I thought we could bake some cookies. Would you like that?”

My face lit up with excitement. “Yes, please!” I exclaimed, bouncing out of bed and rushing to get dressed, and to change out of my pull up. I trusted both of them with my life, but just not things like these yet.

In the kitchen, Bellatrix was already preparing the ingredients, her usually stern demeanor softened by the domestic task. “Good morning, little one,” she said, her eyes crinkling with a rare smile. “Are you ready to bake some cookies?”

I nodded enthusiastically, and we spent the morning mixing dough, cutting shapes, and decorating the cookies with colorful icing. Bellatrix and Narcissa helped me through each step, the level of their patience and kindness making me feel loved and cherished.

As the cookies baked in the oven, we sat around the kitchen table, chatting and laughing. For the first time in a long while, I felt truly happy.

Bellatrix POV

Watching Rosalina blossom under our care was an amazing. The little girl who had once been lost and afraid was now full of life and joy. Her presence had brought out a side of me I never knew existed—a side that was capable of love, compassion, and tenderness.

One evening, as I tucked Rosalina into bed, she looked up at me with her big, trusting eyes. She said softly, “thank you for taking care of me.”

Her words touched my heart, and I felt a lump form in my throat. “You’re welcome, little one,” I replied, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “You’re very special to me, you know that?”

She nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. “I love you, ma-Bella,” she whispered, her eyes closing as she drifted off to sleep, but I caught her little slip my eyes smiling warmly at her.

As I watched her sleep, I realized that in protecting Rosalina, I had found a sense of purpose and redemption. She had shown me that even in the darkest of times, there is always a glimmer of light. And for that, I would always be grateful.

Narcissa POV

The bond that had formed between us was unbreakable. Rosalina had become a part of our family, and we were determined to give her the love and care she deserved. Each day brought new moments of joy and discovery, and we cherished every one of them.

As we sat by the fire one evening, Rosalina snuggled between Bellatrix and me, I felt a sense of contentment wash over me. The war outside might rage on, but within the walls of Malfoy Manor, we had created a sanctuary of love and peace.

And in that sanctuary, we would continue to protect and nurture Rosalina, ensuring that she grew up surrounded by the love and care that every child deserves. She had brought light into our lives, and we were determined to keep that light shining brightly.

A little late but I'm still trying to be as consistent as possible.
