Chapter One: Unwanted Surprise

Twenty minutes, she thought, twenty minutes and I'll be free!

Ochako Uraraka sat tense behind her desk. It was an extended weekend and she couldn't wait to get out of the classroom and enjoy it. She'd hoped to maybe check out the new mall, and planned on asking her boyfriend to go with her once class was out.

Ten minutes now. C'mon clock, faster!

Ochako's boyfriend was a boy named Izuku Midoriya. They'd met at UA's entrance exam in the spring of the year prior, and had started dating about eight months ago. Ochako had been really taken by the boy from the beginning, with his wild green hair, awkward yet determined personality and fond habit of mumbling, these were the happiest days of her life.

Two minutes.....

They'd been spending most all of the little free-time they had with each other, sometimes just talking late into the night in the commonroom about anything and everything.

Ochako POV:

I all but jumped from my seat as the bell rang. Looking around I see everyone making towards the door, gathering belongings or finishing taking notes as Aizawa Sensei finished up what he'd been saying prior to the bell. I spot Izuku heading for the door.

'Hey Deku! Wait up!' I shout as I chase after him out into the crowded halls. 

I see him turn around to face me, a smile on his face, 'Oh, hey! Sorry, didn't mean to leave you behind, my mind must've been off somewhere and forgot to wait.'

'When is it not?' I laugh and kiss him swiftly on the cheek. Even after all this time he still goes red. Then again, I do too. 'So,' I begin, 'it's the weekend! What should we do? That new mall's just opened up, we should go check it out!'

We had made it to the front door of the school and now headed in the direction of our dorms. The cool September air is pleasant as it blows playfully about my ears - a welcome friend after hours in the classroom.

'Sorry, but I'll have to pass today. There are some things I'd like to get done before I really start my weekend. But maybe a different day?'

I am a little disappointed, but I get it. Deku's always trying to better himself and work on his strength and Quirk to be the best some day. I support him in that and so force a smile, 'Okay that's fine. We'll plan on another day then.'

'Thanks for understanding, you're the best!'

We had reached the dorms now. Most of the rest of Class 2A had made their way back already and were chattering happily about what they were all planning to do this weekend. I said goodbye to Deku and headed up to my room. I put my school books down in the corner and changed out of my uniform into something more casual - a coral-coloured t-shirt and some blue jeans. I flop down onto my bed and take out my cell phone. I'll see what the girls are doing this evening. Maybe they'd like to go out. I quickly send out a text to my friends - Mina Ashido, Tsuyu Asui, Momo Yaoyorozu, Kyoka Jiro and Toru Hagakure - to see if they want to go to the cafe that's just a couple blocks from the school. They all answer happily - 'yes', and I smile at the thought of getting a night out with the girls. It's been awhile since we'd all been pretty preoccupied with school and hero training to boot. Plus a couple of us were in relationships, which just took even more time away from the time we usually spent together.
