Ochako POV:
I arrive at the café around 5:45. Looking around, I see Tsuyu, Kyoka and Momo sitting at a table. Tsuyu spots me and waves me over enthusiastically. I walk over and scooch in on the bench seat next to her.
'Hey guys! So only waiting on Mina and Toru, huh?' I say, putting a smile on my face. I will not let the day's events ruin this time with the girls. We've all been waiting for a day out for too long.
'Of course, no surprises there,' Kyoka remarks, taking a sip from her coffee - black.
Momo nods, 'They're probably still up in Mina's room trying to figure out what to wear, knowing them.' We all laugh at the predictability of our friends and continue to chat for a few minutes
I order myself a raspberry ice tea, and just start to sip it when the other two walk in.
'Sorry were a bit late!' Mina says. She plops down on the bench next to me and flashes a toothy smile.
'Have a little fashion show beforehand kero?' Tsu asks.
'Well, it's best to look your best, so yes.'
'How do I look?' Toru asks us, twirling her invisible self around in a circle to show off her paisley blue dress.
'You look lovely, Toru,' I say.
We all continue talking: school, work studies, weekend plans. This whole time, hard as I try, I just can't bring myself to think about something other than my surprise from earlier. My friends voices turn to a faint, muffled buzzing that seems to be miles away as I am forced to watch and rewatch Izuku and Hatsume over and over again in my head, unable to shake it. Suddenly, I'm shaken back to reality, literally, by Mina, who is shaking my shoulder and calling my name.
'Ochako! Earth to Ochako! Hey, what's going on with you?' She asks, concern evident in her voice.
'Yeah, you've hardly said a word,' Tsuyu adds.
Without warning, with all my friends staring at me, with expressions of loving concern written all over their faces, I couldn't help but break down again. Why do I have to keep crying?! Pull yourself together Ochako. No. No one here is gonna judge you, just cry. Just cry. Okay.
Mina grabs me and pulls me into a hug, as Tsuyu, who's sitting to my left on the inside of the bench, rubs my back consolingly. 'Talk to us, girl. C'mon, were here for you. Whatever it is, its gonna be okay.' Mina tells me gently.
I free myself from Mina's hug and recount for the second time today what I'd seen my boyfriend and the girl from the Support course do to the side of the school building. As I finished up, my friends all looked either shocked, horrified, disgusted, angry, pitying or a little of each.
'Why would he do something like that?' Momo asks, 'Has he been acting off at all lately to even suggest this?'
'I don't know. It never crossed my mind.' I stop and think, 'I mean, he has been choosing to spend more time apart lately, but I just thought he was training. Like earlier, when I asked him if he wanted to hang out, he turned me down because there were things he wanted to do before he really started his weekend. I thought he just wanted to get some extra training in, but I see now that I was very wrong...'
Mina looks the most angry, and bursts out much like how Bakugo did when I told him. 'I'm sorry, but Ochako, I'm gonna kill your boyfriend!! What the hell is he thinking, playing with hearts like that?! It's despicable!! So, I'm raising up a resistance, we strike at dawn, who's with me?!'
'Mina, quiet down! You're freaking people out!' Kyoka says at whisper level. Mina's face turns from its usual bubblegum pink to deep red as she realises she's been screaming and had stood up on the bench, and now everyone in the cafe was staring.
She sits back down and whisper yells back, 'Well, I still say we fight him someway or another.'
'Bakugo already said he would if I needed. No need for all of you to get involved in this too. Besides, I'd say if anyone is fighting Izuku, it'd be best if it was Kacchan, just because.' I cut into the conversation.Everyone went dead silent. After a full minute of awkwardness, Toru is the first to speak, 'Hold up. Did you just say Bakugo....?'
'Yes.'
'And why'd you tell him about all this?'
'....well, as I was running away, I accidentally ran into him and he seemed genuinely concerned about how upset I was so I told him about it. He was really nice surprisingly so it all just kind of came out, probably because of how upset I was about Izuku and how shocked I was at his very uncharacteristic niceness.'
'All the same, that's really out of character for him,' Momo said, resting her head on her hand, 'I mean, since when does he care about someone else's problems?'
'That's what I thought too, but it was still really nice all the same, he really helped me over the initial shock of it all.'
'It's great and all that Bakugo's being nice and considerate for once, but shouldn't we be focusing on what we're going to do about Midoriya?? Are you gonna say something to him??' Mina said, still fuming. Mina can be a little too protective at times, but if I was in her shoes, I'd be angry for her sake too.
'I don't know what to say,' I tell her, 'How do you even start that conversation?'
'Just tell him you need to talk, then tell him you saw him with her. And go from there,' says Kyoka.
'I guess so,' I sip my drink and think of how that might go if I do take that route. It seems the only logical thing to do really.
'Oh come on! You gotta make it sting more than that!' Mina says, standing up and leaning forward on the table, 'Even if he's cheating on you, he can still get jealous.' A strange sort on smile crosses her face. This can't be good... 'Remember how Aizawa sensei mentioned that school dance next month? Well, show up with someone else - make it sting - then he'll see how it feels. And if by chance he asks you to go, tell him you're already going with someone, it's perfect!'
Mina, now out of breath is panting like she'd just run a marathon. Everyone stares at her in shock. What in the world is she thinking?? 'Mina,' I start, 'I could never do that! Even if he's very very in the wrong, an eye for an eye isn't the way to handle this. I'll probably just talk to him about it, okay? No revenge acts?'
She crosses her arms, 'Fine, but keep it in mind. Mutiny is the way to go,' she looks down at her phone, 'we should probably head out, it's almost 8:30.'
We all pay for our drinks and head back to UA, Tsu is trying to lighten the mutinous mood by asking everyone about the upcoming exams. Though now I am way too distracted to focus on the conversation. Jealousy? Really? It just seems so cruel, but then again think about what he did. No, like Kyoka said, just talk to him about it, that'll be best...I think....
