Was I suddenly delusional?
Or had I drank too much?Or maybe I was both.
Because Abhinav Sharma, a rich single guy, and the most charming bachelor in town was definitely not here before the woman who left him thanklessly."Because..", He cleared his throat,
"Because Abhir is like my son too. And I want him to be with me."I blinked again, keeping my glass of rum aside.
"You.. want him.. to be with you..?", I asked.
He inhaled deeply, there was a visible frustration about him.Something had distinctly changed about Abhinav Sharma, one was his surname for sure.
Abhinav Shekhawat.
The other was his aura.
The aura of a simple man with little or no ambition apart from keeping his family well seemed to have been lost in the oblivion.
He was now ambitious, he had the aura of power now."Yes.", He said sternly, "I am being selfish."
I burst into laughter.
He paused staring at me.
"Why are you laughing?!", He snapped.
"You? And selfish?", I asked catching up my breath.
Last few years had definitely made him funny. His eyes flared up.
He edged closer, his eyes glinting with rage.
"Yes. Selfish and heartless, Akshara Goenka.", He whispered, coldly.I stared at them, even in a drunken fit, I could not help but notice the kind of glow up he had.
From simple shirts to International branded suits, but the simple smile to the steely gaze and serious face. This wasn't the Abhinav I had known.
He was a sweet law abider, this man made his own laws."I know this is not the best time to talk to you, but frankly, I don't care. I don't have time for you or your antics anymore Akshara. It's either a yes, or a no.", He said coldly.
I gulped.
"Anyways, I don't think you have much of a choice.", He added.
It hit me hard."No mumma! You left Papa in Kasauli and came here with Docman! What if you leave me too?", I could hear my son's voice echo in my head.
"You are the greatest curse in my life, Akshara! I should have just married Arohi instead of running behind you!", I heard Abhimanyu.
I held my head, suddenly it was aching.
I held my head, tears sliding down my cheeks."Sometimes we invite tragedy ourselves.", I heard him sigh.
I looked up at him, rather enraged.
"What is wrong with you even?! Why are you so rude to me?!", I snapped as the ache intensified.
His lips curved into an amused smile.
"Waah Akshara Ji, waah!", He said almost laughing,
"You dump me, leave with your Cardio surgeon ex husband and now you ask me why I am rude?"
