Silent Remorse
In the stillness of the night,
Beneath the shadow's chilling might,
I carry with me a heavy load,
A burden that weighs on my soul.
For I have walked a darker path,
And felt the aftermath of wrath,
A life extinguished by my hand,
A deed that I can't understand.
The echoes of the final breath,
Haunt me in the face of death,
I see their eyes, so full of fear,
And feel the weight of every tear.
I cannot shake the guilt that clings,
Or silence the remorse that sings,
A symphony of pain and grief,
A constant torment, no relief.
I bear the weight of what I've done,
A heavy chain that cannot be undone,
And though I seek to find some peace,
The burden of my guilt won't cease.
But in the darkness, I still strive,
To find redemption, to revive,
To carry on despite the weight,
And learn to live with my mistakes.
For though I walk a path of woe,
I hold onto a flicker of hope,
That one day I may find release,
And finally lay my burden at peace.
