Suffocation

That's all I could feel.

I had just woken up and my vision was still blurry, trying to control my breathing,

In and out

In and out 

I felt hard metal underneath me but there was no light and I still couldn't locate where I was.

I tried to think of what happened, who put me here. Or even who I was.

But I couldn't, all the memories I could recall were vague and faded, all of the people in them were unrecognizable. Their faces were blurry and I didn't recognize anyone or anything.

Nothing made sense, I didn't remember anything, not even my own name.

I tried to stay calm as I leaned against the cold metal, breathing slowly and trying to relax.

I was exhausted I could feel it, the ground wasn't too comfy but I could tell I'll need a lot of energy for whatever awaits me when I get out of here.

I laid down and shut my eyes. I had my hands pressed together, trying to calm myself. 

I didn't sleep for long before I was awoken by a loud alarm noise, and the box I was in began to glow red from lights. I could see where I was now, a small metal box with boxes of supplies in them with the letters W.C.K.D printed along the sides.

Then the box began to go up, like an elevator making the ground which I was on shake, so I quickly crawled over to the wall I was laying on before.

What will be at the top? 

I wonder, I mean there has to be something at the top but I wonder what.

I try to stay calm, though inside I'm freaking out. Whatever is at the top I hope it's good, otherwise I'm practically already dead

Then the box suddenly comes to a halt, causing me to fly off the wall into the other side of the box. 'Jesus, that hurt' I say out loud, though I don't know who I'm trying to talk to.

I can hear faint voices from outside, which lets me know there's some sign of life outside of here.

Then the roof of the box gets pulled up, revealing a bright sun shining right into my eyes. 

That's when I see people, around 20 boys surrounding the outside of the box staring at me like I have two heads.

A boy jumps down into the box, which startles me. He begins to slowly walk towards me, I can't trust anyone here yet so I beging scooting backwards until I'm hidden in the corner behind one of the boxes. 

The boy is still staring at me, looking completely shocked as he looks me up and down. 

'It's a shucking girl' he says.

Everyone is silent , still staring at me. I don't even know if any words are going to come out, but before I know it I'm already talking.

'Yeah no shit'

I shouldn't have said that, I thought. Now everyone was staring at me harder, though the boy in the box had a smirk on his face.

'You're going to have to get out greenie,' he says, which leaves me confused. 

'Greenie? What's that supposed to mean?' 

He chuckles and grabs my hand and yanks me up out of the box I had been in.

'Ow'

I feel like an animal, I'm on the floor and everyone is circling around me still staring, not much words have been exchanged since they saw me. Which I don't understand I'm not that special,

Until it clicks. I'm the only girl 

I'm here in a field with a big group of boys, alone.

That's when I get up quickly, and sprint.

I run, not knowing where I'm going. Panting and wishing I had slept for longer in that box.

I quickly realized that I was quite fast, fast enough. I didn't look behind me, it would only slow me down. Though I could hear voices of people saying stuff like 

'Go greenie!'

'Someone stop her!'

'Gally get her'

I didn't know who Gally was but I wasn't going to stick around to find out, I continued sprinting until I reached a foresty area with lots of trees with thick branches on them.

I needed to get up on one of those branches, I thought. Trying to figure out how to get up, I heard voices getting closer. I ended up jumping and grabbing the branch, then swinging my leg over the side, hoisting myself up.

I scooted to the start of the branch, I was pretty hidden already with leaves, but I wasn't taking any chances.

Then I saw 4 or 5 boys walk right under the tree I was in.

'Where'd she go?!' I hear one boy yell, he sounded angry which made me want to get down less.

'Gally, man calm down, we'll find her but she got a good head start!'

So that's who Gally was, I thought. He didn't sound like too much fun, so I'll steer clear of him.

'Well hurry up and find her, who knows where she went she could've ran into the maze! For shuck sake' Gally says, still sounding very angry.

Maze? I thought. I didn't get a good look at the big field we were in but I think I would have noticed a maze.

The boys all ran off in different directions making me feel calmer, my heart was racing when they were all under me.

I didn't know when I would get down, but it was pretty uncomfortable up here and my body was aching from hitting the wall in the box.

I stayed up there for a bit longer, but I needed to stretch, I'd come straight back up afterwards.

The drop was quite high, so it look a bit before I gained the courage to actually jump.

I awkwardly moved to the edge of the branch, bracing myself to jump, when suddenly the branch snapped

I fell quickly to the ground screaming loudly, I was certain everyone on earth heard me.

I landed with a thud and a sharp pain rushed through my head. I felt pain everywhere

My legs my ankles my ribs my head my wrists, all of it was aching

I used all my power to hoist myself up off the ground but before I could start walking, my vision became blurry and darkness consumed me as I fell back down to the ground.
