The crisp morning breaks out of the dark and deep areas of the night to let light begin its rise over, the warmth of the sun trickling through the specks of frozen grass on the solid ground, trees breathed within the free space that they have around them, the overcast clouds raced through the air as the sun already meets its highest point of the day.
Light commotion came from every direction in the city, cars beeping along the traffic of the city center, fumes being produced by the congestion. It moved slowly, not any subtle movements coming from the long lines of vehicles.
A dull blonde walked through the park, her low, loose bun bouncing with every step. She swept herself in the warmest clothing that she could find for the time of month, her breath becoming frosty from the cold air. Strands falling down her face but yet her hair being recently tied up. Shortly after her stroll through the park, a familiar voice rolled in from behind her as loud footsteps followed.
"Hey...hey!" a man wheezed, sprinting towards the lady in front.
She turns around with her eyebrows raised, "Morgan?" the lady questioned to herself, seeing Morgan run towards her in a hurry.
Unable to catch his ragged breath, he soon stopped, but his feet still slid ever so slightly across the floor. Morgan looked down at the concrete ground, held two cups of a popular franchise-bought coffee, the monochromatic green logo presented on the cup. The coffee, still Luke-warm and ready to drink. Although, both cups were heavily dented from the pressure of Morgan's thumbs but somehow not leaking.
"What on earth are you doing here? I thought you were working." she questioned with her friend in front of her.
"Yes...yes I know-" He composed his shaky breath before lifting himself off up, now completely facing her. "But...ugh...I couldn't miss out on a little coffee walk together, right Eva?" Morgan spoke while offering a coffee to her.
Eva noticed the kind gesture from Morgan and accepted the dented cup of coffee. "You're so clumsy, yet you haven't spilled a single drop." she chuckled softly, "I'm guessing that you finally caught on that it was 44 degrees?"
"I suppose so, at least I had time to get drinks!" Morgan commented on, "It's just been a slow morning for me. That's all."
Eva nodded along with Morgan's explanation, understanding his work ethic. Soon enough he walked up beside her, they're shoulders almost touching but still enough to be apart from each other. They strolled through the glazed over landscape, Morgan, wearing nothing built for the winter weather except from a deep blue jacket.
"So, how's school been treating you?" Morgan asked with a soft but charming smile on his face.
Eva looked at him with a blank expression, "It's college, not school." she rolled her eyes away in her imagination, but continued on. "It's been fine, the weather is not helping most of my classmates on their projects. They should've planned to be more careful."
Eva dived into her warm coffee, savoring the taste in her mouth, she beat her lips. "Is the bakery going well?"
"Come on, y'know how it is near Thanksgiving, busy." Morgan said before taking a swig of his own drink. "We already have customers pre-ordering."
"That's good, as in making profits." She reassured him, making sure that Morgan understood what she meant. Eva pauses for a moment before beginning a question, "Will Thanksgiving be held at your place again?"
