"He got most of them wrong?" Mom said, putting a plate of rolls in the center of the dinner table.
"Yes, can you believe it? I gave him plenty of time to study while I was busy with my lessons, yet he missed half of the answers that will be on his test tomorrow." Janus spoke in a frustrated tone.I shrugged, picking at my food with my fork. "Sorry, I'm just not very good at history. I'll study again tonight."
Aiden gulped down his fruit punch and then after, held up his cup. "May I have some more fruit punch, mama?" He asked.
"No you may not, that was your second cup," mom replied. "And if you don't stop gulping your drink down like that, I'll make you start drinking with a straw."
He slumped his shoulders. "Aw man..."Mom took a sip of her water and then looked to me. "Nick, your sister told me you were planning on going to your school dance this year."
My eyes immediately darted to Janus, giving her a cold glare. Of course she told mom when I specifically told her not to...it's only been 45 minutes since I told her.
In return, she gave me an innocence smile.Brat...
I looked back at mom. "Um, yeah, I am. I'm going with a friend."
Janus rolled her eyes. "A 'friend'? Yeah right." Her voice dripped with sarcasm.
"Nick has a girlfriend, Nick has a girlfriend~" Aiden sang.I could feel my cheeks heating up. "She is NOT my girlfriend!" I spat. "Never was, never will."
"It's so obvious you like Panora. You get all flustered every time someone mentions her." Janus pointed out.
"W-Well that's because-
"And, your smile never leaves your face when she comes over."
"No, I-
"You look at her with those dreamy eyes of yours."
"I only-
"You have the heart emoji beside her contact name on your phone and-
I rose from my seat, my face the color of a tomato by now. "Enough! What I feel for Panora is none of your business, nor my relationship with her! Stay out of my life!" I blurted out, running out of the kitchen and rushing upstairs. What the hell is wrong with you? Why would you say that and to your own sister?!
I closed my bedroom door and fell back onto my bed. I'm so stupid, I'm so stupid! I didn't mean any of those words I said, so.....why did I say them?
